Thank you! We have just returned home after a full day of celebrating Easter from Hymns to Hams, to Peeps.

Thank you! It was great. Except my sauce that Bob_cville posts for pork roast. I bombed that one. I will try it again, as it I could see how it would've been good, had I not gotten everything wrong.

You can give one to me, Lorraine; I would appreciate it! *big grin* I appreciate the work and love that go into them, and I think they are just too cute!! Love the little tootsies on 'em! :-) If I weren't so darned swap impaired I'd suggest we do a trade. The purse swap we did in the past was so fun!

I make all of the Christmas cards we send. Birthday, sympathy and other holiday cards, not so much anymore. Birthdays always seem to sneak up on me so they go out late. Even though I have a number of stamp sets for sympathy cards, I just haven't quite gotten the knack for them. I need to work on that, and get some made ahead. I usually keep cards for several years before tossing them. I know when I start cleaning out the house I am going to find many from our KT card exchanges!

Thanks JC, and I hope you had a nice Passover! I kept coming here over the past weeks looking for conversation/inspiration for holiday cooking. Used to be, we'd all be planning holiday meals together months ahead of time. Ah, the good old days. (Am I getting old?)

But I'd love to hear what everyone cooked. I don't have any pictures which I'm a little bummed about because everyone commented on how good everything looked. I served sous vide rosemary rack of lamb, crab stuffed shrimp, roasted spring vegetables, and orzo "risotto". Most people had three servings of everything so I think they enjoyed it as much as I did. Dessert was brought by the guests: A cute pineapple bunny cake, coconut cream pie, and chocolate cake.

I have to admit, I kept checking to see what was going on for the seders and easter meals. I miss not seeing them too!

FOAS, I started a new thread just for what everyone cooked. :) Your meal sounds lovely. I'm trying to wrap my head around "risotto" made of pasta. How do you make that?

We lost a lot of people with the change. I know I was mad at the format change because it went in right when I was stressed and exhausted and wanted to cozy up with my friends in the box. It took a lot of patience to get used to things and make it feel like "home". And I was only on GW for 7-8 years. Many go back to the beginning or soon after!

Still, there were a lot of threads (including several of mine) about the cooking of parts of the meals. Hopefully people will post about their results. As you'll see, I kind of go ape over the vegetables for harvest meals (though this time of year is the barley harvest, it is Spring, so just as good an excuse. We use a lot of roots and dried fruits because traditionally they're the last of the previous year's bounty (and all there was in places where snow was still on the ground). The wheat harvest and the first fruits would be at the next harvest festival, Shavuot ("Weeks", seven weeks from now), when we traditionally eat dairy. There are some reasons for that, but none are particularly convincing. :)
