Help id please, plus...

Hello! Can anyone please identify this plant for me?

On the back of the id, is there a weedkiller/grass killer i could use to kill off the weeds and grass (buffalo mostly) that this plant is competing with without killing the plant itself (if that is even possible)? Or maybe its some sort of native grass itself?!

I don't know which grass that one is but there are a number of reasonably similar looking native ones. If you want to preserve it while getting rid of other grasses around it poisoning isn't the way to go. Grasses are susceptible to the same poisons. Hand pulling around the plants themselves will be necessary and then you could do spot spraying for the weed ones a bit further away. But watch for spray drift if it's windy (which isn't a good time to spray anyway) and use a nozzle setting that will give larger droplets.

Type in Swamp Foxtail Grass. It's becoming a weed in Sydney. U can tie up the grass like in a ponytail and hand remove or spray depending how good u are haha.

I use it and find it confusing. I would enable it and if it blocks something you want to see Right Click the item and tell it to allow. It used to give me a hard time, but now I forget it is installed. It seems to work very well. I also use Flashblock which I love. It blocks all flashing, jumping ads. If you want to see them you click on the space on the screen and they appear. Love, love both these add ons. Jane

I was in a similar position. Just had a new house built and had the rough-in for softener included, but did not include the actual softener. Got bids from Culligan, Kinnetico, and Water Right. Ultimately felt the Water Right was the best system for our needs. I'm sure I could have saved a bunch buying online/installing myself (paying a plumber) but I think the cost savings isn't enough to offset having someone else sign their name to the work. Just my $0.02.

OK, so the mealy in 'mealy bugs' is just a descriptor of what they look like. I'm glad they don't call powdered sugar mealy sugar, not that I eat it more than once a year or so. Learn something new every day here.

stenocereus queretaroensis/grieseus for both of them. Polaskia has smoother edge on the ribs(no tubecules, no jagged imperfections). By jagged imperfections, btw, look at stenocereus pruinosus. It has a lot of sharp angles. Had both. I do not see wavy powder... on a side note, llifle has a mix of stenocereus and myrtillocactus cochal photos labeled under polaskia....So, that one is not reliable for an ID.. Stick to this. White powders, waves. Smooth, straight, elegant ribs. Smaller spines. More areoles.
