Outlet is the general term for any wiring that terminates at a wall or ceiling. Outlet covers can be designed for a receptacle, a switch, a cable, etc. so they can be called receptacle covers, switch covers, etc. If they are plain/undecorated they are often called plates as in "switchplate". So these terms can be used interchangeably or together. Nevertheless the distinction between a lighting outlet and a receptacle outlet is important. The code requires a switched lighting outlet in a habitable room but has an exception allowing it to be a receptacle outlet for "cord connected lighting". This exception is important because it is sometimes deleted by state or local amendments. A switched receptacle should not have a dimmer switch in order to avoid damage to other appliances. Make sure the fan outlet system (hanger brace & box with hook) is labeled as suitable for supporting a fan. If the weight of the fan is greater than 35 lbs., the box must be labeled with the maximum weight it can support (70 lbs. max.)

I finally read The Reduced Shakespeare and attended the book club meeting where it was discussed. I have to admit, it was rather fun to read. The humor was often clever, but sometimes corny. At book club, there wasn't really much to discuss, so we spent most of our time watching a DVD of The Reduced Shakespeare Company performing The Complete Works of William Shakespeare. Most of us were wary of the idea at first, but we were soon drawn in and I'm here to tell you, hilarity ensued. It was one of the funniest things I've seen in a long time. I highly recommend it. -- Kathy

This version of Poldark was much better than the original one which I watched some years ago - perhaps it's the brooding intensity of Aidan Turner. They are now filming season 2 and the BBC stated that Poldark might be the long running drama they're seeking as a replacement for Downton Abbey. There are 12 novels in Winston Graham's Cornwall series covering the years 1783 to 1820. No air date set yet but they hinted maybe spring 2016. Outlander is also filming and just switched locations. Ron Moore did a Q&A last week and said while he's not in charge of scheduling that we should anticipate late March or April 2016.

I watched the 2nd show last night and while it's not spine tingling, it's mildly entertaining. I do like some of the recipes he's making...the radish and pea shoot crostini looked so good and I never would have come across that recipe. The pasta dishes also looked really, really good. Not complicated, no special ingredients, so I appreciate that.
