WANTED: African violet/leaf plantlet exchange... Box #1
Comments (50)Deb, my box was picked up, not delivered.. on the 15th, I was home on the 14th so it should of been delivered right to our home. (unless we had a sub carrier and he was just to lazy to deliver it...lol. ) This is the first time that has ever happened, plus our postal carrier knows if someone isnt home to leave it at my sons house right next doo. So, I am not sure why it is saying it was delivered on the 14. I will get it back in the mail ASAP, like I always do, but I cant see it sitting over the weekend! I'm in northern Wisc. its getting cold here as well. Corinne...See MoreWhat are their names?
Comments (7)Where did you purchase these violets? If they came from a big box store or a grocery store they are probably Optimaras. Go to their web-site and there is an ID page that may be able to help. Someone else here mentioned doing a search with the bar code numbers if they are still in their original pots. I hope this helps and welcome! Linda...See MoreDoes somebody know the name of this flower
Comments (11)Thanks for your reply, Donna and Quimoi! Quimoi, I didn't know even where to start looking until you told me a few names that I can look up (I love AVs but am not an experienced collector). So I looked up Optimara, Rhapsodie and Millenia, and guess what... mine has to be a Optimara Millenia!!! I saw a close up picture on Grownotes.com (which I can't add here because it says "copyright") and took a close up picture of mine (below), put them side by side, and they look strikingly the same! Well I'm so glad that I at least can call it by a name, as I hate calling all my AVs "NOID"s ("hey you, NOID1, hey you NOID2 :-) I seem to be able to spot really pretty ones at the stores, but there is never a name on the plant. Thanks again for responding! Uploaded with ImageShack.us...See MoreID this violet please
Comments (3)The second photo looks like an Optimara Rhapsody Gisela. If you purchased it at Walmart, it is most likely an Optimara. You can go to the Selective Gardner website and look at the different violets and compare them to what you got but it is almost impossible to identify some violets just from the photos. I am not sure what variety your first photo is....See Morecarolyn18810
