This is a guess, but could your "chartreuse leaves with fuchsia pink flowers" plant be "Limelight" four o'clocks? (Mirabilis jalapa) You've posted about them before. I like them too. I've got two tubers I saved which are potted and leafing out indoors, and plan to sow seeds for more. I have had them nibbled and suspect it was deer. Here is a link that might be useful: Your post re: Limelight volunteers

Alan, Id take pictures of my lawn, where the weed spots are. Then id email those pics to the lawn service head/home office/manager/gm whoever runs the office that they work at and higher up than that and ask them wth youve been paying for, for 2 years! Lawn cutting? You could pay some random 10 year old to do the job that they did. hehe One of two things will happen, 1. Their service will be outstanding. 2. The service will continue to degrade, at which time you cancel their services. As far as getting another service... Just call around, Ive started part time work during the week for a Friend of mine, Landscaping. The lawns he works look great. Except for any centipede lawns. Idc how good they look i dont like how centipede looks personally. IDK if it matters to you or not, but you could check their credentials as well if its a smaller unknown service. My friends service is an unknown, but he has a degree in Horticulture with his focus on Home Turf Management. Anyways just an idea.

Since you show your "zone" as south, does that mean southern US? That's still a pretty big area. Can you give us more details? Warm season grasses are common in much of the south. If you're in an area with warm season grass, this is not the right time to seed.

Shelley, I saw your post regarding success with butterbeans in Zone 5 and am eager to learn more. I'm in Zone 5 in the eastern high plains of Colorado with a growing season (if lucky) of 3-4 months. I grow 4 varieties of bush beans (Tennessee Green Pod, Anasazi, Royal Burgundy and Pinto) with high yields and little maintenance other than watering. I would love to find a butterbean variety that could be grown here as well. Would you have any spare seed from your Lynch's harvest that I could trade for or purchase? tom
