Must plead guilty to never taking any photos. Got frustrated a few years ago when driving around England doing the touristy thing and looking for orchids here and there and of course finding none. There are probably many orchids in other parts of the world described as a leafless saprophytes which cannot be cultivated

Thanks for the information on this beautiful Texas Native. I have an area that I have dedicated to wildflowers that I have been so happy with. At this time, I have Ratibida, bluebonnets and standing cypress growing there and I would love to add some more blue to this bed. Is this plant evergreen? Is it an early spring bloomer? I read on another post the information on Thelesperma filifolium and I plan to also add that plant to this native area. I see that they are both available from American Native Seed. Molly

Hardenbergia certainly wont and I don't think the Pandorea will either, though I've not planted that, it might need keeping an eye on. As you're in Melbourne I'd try a few Clematis: Aristata (old man's beard) and C. Glycinoides are Aussie natives. Neither produce flowers as dramatic as the non-native varieties but worth a place in the garden. Clematis do need special treatment however, but are certainly not difficult and there are many sites covering their varieties and cultivation. Very pretty Laurie! How old are your plants? I am curious about the 2nd photo, what are the tiny bumps on the caudex? Thanks for sharing. Tracy
