Can I take my golden pothos limb that broke off and reroot it?
Comments (1)Sure thing. I like to water root them personally, then transfer them to soil. You have to be sure that you have a root node on the vine before you attempt to propagate it, otherwise it won't root. The root nodes are those brown bumps (for a lack of better words) under the vine. Planto...See Moreshould I take off these shutters or repaint them?
Comments (24)WOW! You all have been so helpful to me. I love this forum! martinca, yes we have lots of azaleas and the like...very southern! Maybe one day we'll paint the house and post a pic for you! Awm03, thanks for the photoshop! I do need to think about this idea about one color for the future. For now, it's just small stuff. Suero, yikes! Thanks for doing that for me....definitely not a fan of red shutters! Littlebug5, My3dogs, and hoosiergirl, I can totally agree that the red door is not the best color. And I can see how it clashes with the orange and there are lots of better colors out there. I just really wanted a personal stamp on the house. The idea of matching occurred to me (the door was originally the same color as the shutters) and I was thinking of green....but there is already so much green in that yard. I think if you saw the inside of my house you could see what color people we are. I even dress in a colorful way...mixing patterns(hmmm, I wonder how many of us resemble our home decorationg in terms of personal dress? That would be a fun experiment, match the homeowner to the house!). Like I said, I totally get that the door is not perfect in terms of matching but it just makes me happy! I love it. My3 dogs, hmmm. I can see what you mean! I think it would look nice with the siding that color too (did you notice there door shutters were still on in that pic?) : ) hosenemis, we pulled the shutters off around the door and big window already. They were anchored in the mortar. Not a real problem. However, having said all this I am definitely NOT painting the shutters, as was one of my ideas (thanks to suero for helping with this!) and will most likely be leaving them as well. I will focus my attention on landscaping for now. It's funny: having posted this a while ago, I now see my house and I am much happier with it. I also think I'd rather paint the whole whole taupe and keep the red door so for now it won't be perfect but I am quite happy with that! I love this forum and so appreciate all who have chimed in to help me!...See Morewill I regret taking carpet off stairs?
Comments (13)I think the slipping is a product of the depth of the stairs and the slope. I've slipped on hardwood ones and on carpeted ones. Usually where the rise wasn't very large. We have removed the carpet from our new house stairs. The rise is pretty high (actually the stupid builder of the house didn't even make the rise uniform) where we have triangle landings (winders) the rise varies by 1/2 inch. Still haven't fallen yet, but if I do it will be because of those winders and the builder's inability to get the same rise rather than what material is on them....See Morecan i take the medal rem off my kitchen sink and it still work
Comments (19)I am doing an install just like this and want to keep my Hudee ring. My dilemma is that we installed butcher block countertop. It is 1.5 inches thick and the Hudee ring is just over an inch. Does anyone know if I can just install it with longer clips? Or does anyone have info about installing a Hudee ring sink with butcher block? I did find some longer clips online. Here is a pic of the sink before we installed the countertop, the Hudee ring and a pic showing the measurement. of the Hudee ring. Thank you so much for your help!!...See Morethe_foxes_pad
