Comments (7)We highly recommend Mark Daley of Woodsong Furniture - he's really a furniture maker who also builds custom cabinets on the side. He's making final adjustments on our house full of inset shaker-style cabinets right now. Several cabinets are custom designed (as in, we needed a solution for hiding dog crates, etc.). He's thoughtful, accomodating and value-oriented (offers options). I'd be happy to answer any specific questions about his work (off line, maybe?). We're really pleased thus far! Comments (13)sarschlos remodeler - Thought I'd just post my GC's name also, it is Mike McKay (714)848-8703 of McKay Construction, Inc. You're welcome to come over and see my remodel or to call me for more info. Just telephone Mike and tell him the Barreres (in Irvine) said to give you their phone number. Our remodel was basically a little of everything on our main floor, including gutting the old kitchen and tearing down the wall between the dining room and kitchen. Oh, we also pushed out the kitchen 5'. This remodel was phase I and Mike will be doing upstairs next year for us. Good luck...Claire...See MoreAny of you in San Diego or S. Comments (4)I am in SD. Cabinetry Design built gorgeous custom cherry cabinets with raised panels for our last house in 2004. They were better priced than a lot of the semi-custom lines we priced at kitchen showrooms and big box stores. I am currently waiting for them to build slab walnut cabinets for our new house. Light colored quartzite is hard to find in SD. In the Miramar area, check Amazon, Tutto Marmo, AZ Tile, Brazilian Exotic Granite, and Marmol, as they regularly carry White Macauba and some other light quartzites. In San Marcos, Granix and Brazilian Exotic Granite have quartzite. I visited those yards multiple times over the year and a half that I was planning the remodel to see what new shipments arrived. There were a few slabs early in the process that I wish I had bought, because it took a while to wait for new shipments that had large enough slabs with a pattern I like. I finally bought my slabs of WM at Amazon last week. Here is a link that might be useful: Cabinetry Design...See MoreComplete kitchen remodel in Orange County CA
Comments (4)Yes, you start with a kitchen designer. High end depends on your definition. 150K+ for some, while that’s just the custom range plus hood for others. Or just the cabinets. There is no limit to high end, and prices are at least 20% higher than they were 2 years ago. Start by collecting looks that you love. Products that you love. Look around at your neighbor’s spaces. Do they have the 90K range? The $600 a square goot marble? Lapis lazuli hand carved pulls? Or are they the somewhat common pedestrian Wolf/SubZero and white painted inset cabinets?...See Morejdesign_gw
