Cleaning tree mess off flagstone
Comments (5)Hi - I know this thread is 7 yrs old, but I have this problem as well with a patio I have just installed (Arizona flagstone, colors like buff, oak, peach) where part of it is under a large redwood tree. The redwood berries stain the flagstone and the stains cannot be removed (I have tried everything - power washing, various cleaners, strong solvents, etc). The only way to get rid of the stains is by scraping off a layer of the stone (which, though very laborious, actually works, using a utility knife as recommended by my stone mason). I am now sealing with Glaze-N-Seal impregnator stone sealant and plan to do 3 coats for the area under the redwood trees. But I am pretty worried about this so if anyone has any ideas, experience or solutions in this area, let me know. I am happy to update with my results after sealing, if anyone else out there cares... Comments (31)I wish I could say the problem was resolved. My glass was changed.. It was better, not perfect and then a few months in I noticed what looked like a small crack in one panel. They said it was an imperfection, they changed that glass panel again. The new pane they replaced has no imperfections but I think the haze looks worse. The issue is called white haze, a defect in the manufacturing process. You can google it. I found the problem by doing research myself. The techs that came out from the supplier I ordered from didn’t know what it was. If you look at the glass straight on you don’t usually see it, but on a very sunny day you can , and definitely if you look at it from an angle. In my research I learned that tempered glass does allow for some haze, it’s the nature of the glass but it shouldn’t have big white streaks. The supplier I bought it from dealt with Windsor for me. The glass is made by Cardinal, which is a huge supplier who makes glass for most of the big window and door companies. I just think Windsor uses a lesser quality production. I’ve learned to live with It, but next time I will not buy from Windsor....See MoreFlagstone Color for a Backyard/Patio
Comments (1)I think it depends on your style , for me I would do the gray in the larger format to keep it simple and easy to decorate around....See Moreengrgirl
