Well, mine is not garden related. "Sister" became a nickname when I started playing rugby on my sister's rugby team after college. A woman named Donna on the team couldn't remember anyone's name, so I became "Sister" and it really stuck. A few years later, at a wedding, someone was telling Donna about a really nice lawyer she'd met -- when Donna asked who it was, the woman replied "I can't remember her name, but I know it was Sister's sister!" To this day, if I call anyone from my old team, I have to use my nickname, as no one would know my first name. The "k" in sister_k is for my first name, which is Kristin.

What does it mean when your blooms don't have a color?

Those blooms don't look white to me, rather a pale pinkish/lavander. Mine looked like that when I purchased them but when established in my garden (acid soil) they are med/bright blue but I still get lavander now and then. Are they 2 years in your garden or 2 years old period? Maybe some alum sulfate sprinkled around the drip line would kick start them.....yg

Well, I just have to resurrect this post... My screen name was forgotten, so when I rejoined, I used my married initials, first, middle and last name. I'd like to switch to my maiden/current initials, jclepine, but I figure it really isn't that big of a deal. Am I being a smarty-pants if I say that I know what meershaum means? Even if I can't spell it? When I was little I was very in to reference materials (nerd!) and looked everything up at the library. Sea Foam Green was my favourite crayon colour, so I looked that up until I figured out the connection to the pipes. I couldn't figure out, though, how they made a pipe out of sea foam!! Oh, and I was sure it was Dig It, not Digit...oh well!! I sure enjoyed reading these... Jennifer Camille

Back in 1973 I was a long haul truck driver and I got idea that I wanted to get an Amateur Radio License, but not knowing any hams and never being in one place long enough to attend classes I did it on my own. I began by learning the code from some audio tapes, then i would dit dah away reciting road signs in code as I drove along. Finally I aquired a ham radio receiver and began copying off the air but i couldn't make heads or tails of it. I continued copying off the air for nearly a year and I could stay with the high speed code but I just could not grasp what was being said. Finally I was sitting at home a few days and a friend had been attending ham radio classes so she invited me to sit in on one with her. I went to the class and sat in on their 5 word per minute code practice. At the end of about ten minutes the instructor asked why i had not written anything, did i not copy anything? I said, at that pace, are you crazy, sure i copied it then i wrote out what was said. We talked a few minutes and i informed the instructor that i had been copying off the air but it didnt make sense to me. He said come on in the radio room and lets see your problem so I sat down to a rig and tuned the upper end of the 40meter band and began copying. After about ten minutes everybody in the room was laughing at me. I had copied a 40 word per minute transmission with 100% accuracy. My problem was that no one had ever taught me the telegraphers shorthand..Hi HI For those unfamiliar with CW (Continuous Wave commonly called radio morse code) a typical transmission would look like the following: KA1DAO DE KC8UXZ RR GE OM ES TNX FER CUL UR RST 599 599 NAME HR DICK DICK QTH MASS MASS WX CLDY ES RAIN BK TO U K Translated- KAIDAO (station being called) DE (called by) KC8UXZ (Station calling) RR means message follows) GE OM (Good Evening Old Man) ES (AND) TNX FER CUL (Thanks for call) UR RST(Radio signal report-Readibility scaled 1-5 /Signal Strength scaled 1-9 & Tone scaled 1-9) NAME HR DICK (Senders name is Dick -repeated) QTH (My location is) Mass (Nassachusetts -repeated) WX-CLDY & Rain (Weather report cloudy & rain) BK TO U(Back to you) K (end of transmission) Needless to say, i got my first Novice Ticket (Amateur Radio License -Novice level) that night. In those days a Novice license was only valid for one year and was restricted to CW only, Max 75watts output and Crystal Controlled Transmitters). Twenty one days before my Novice Ticket expired the FCC approved renewing a novice license and they approved a novice to have a tunable transmitter as well as receiver. I was so content with brass pounding that I kept my Novice ticket for nearly ten years before upgrading to General Class.

My name means that my parents couldn't agree on a name, so I was registered as Baby Girl -- until they came up with two names that neither set of grandparents liked, and then...they called me something ELSE! Anyway, I have an 'amended' birth certificate like an adoptee.

Well, I would say this is a bit of hogwash. I typed in my name and the description describes DH. I typed in his name, and the description fits me! LOL His is the same as Raven's and he's definitely a type A.

It's just a fortune generator.

My brother's psych prof. sent a dozen kids out of the room, I think at one of the first sessions of the course. Told the rest of the couple hundred students what was up and invited the dozen back in. He proceeded to read an in depth analysis of each kid's character, like you would find in a detailed horoscope or handwriting "analysis". They were blown away. How could he know so much about them? Each one agreed that he had them nailed.

What he had was a stack of randomly written gobbledegook using general traits that could apply to anybody. This is one of the tricks charlatans use to lure people in. It's harmless fun on that website, or at a fair for $5, but people loose big money to the people who claim unknowable powers of insight. A trickster would tell Georgysmom that switching the descriptions was just a test of how well she and her husband know each other, or the spirits were being playful, or the vibrations were cloudy. There's always an excuse when they're wrong. :)

Natalie is the same as Audrey's (OP). However, take it with a grain of salt. Natalie is my English name (what I go by & not on papers), it isn't my real name.

Yet, there's some truth in its description. I am at best with everything, that is from my point of view only. I do strive for perfection but only within my ability. I am confident... most of the time. I am authoritive but keeps it within my right. I am aggressive but only when it needs to be (eg: searching for a job, etc.).

Did you notice that when you start to type your name, the first letter brings it up? So in my case Sue (my real name) popped up; also Sue and my real last name showed.. With Sue I am Type A, with both names I'm the same as Raven. Guess I'm just completely mixed up!
