Is it possible to put more than one picture per post? This is some newer plants I put in. I've had to start putting DE around the plants because there were lots of ants walking around up there. So I assume there are aphids. The okra has the definite speckling I've seen shown as spidermite damage. The other leaves that have already died have the white circles on brown dry leaves I've seen for spider mites. I plant the seeds in net cups. They germinate, break ground and very shortly after are turning very light green to yellow even though they are getting nutrients. Or the edges around the leaf go crispy brown and slowly works it's way in to the middle of the leaf, leaving white dots behind.

buehl: I also got really high prices locally. The best I found was $21/sq ft which included freight. That was contractor's pricing. I had two quotes at $28/sq ft!! So I gave up on buying it locally and used the sources that other GWers provided. And I don't have to pay sales tax, either. I would much prefer to buy it locally, but jeez, it's just way too expensive. When I do the 'store locator' thing on the Jeffrey Court website, I get the Florida Tile warehouse here in Denver. I called them, and they gave me a long list of local retailers. It seems in Denver, at least, the pricing is set by Florida Tile. My GC has an account with Florida Tile and he was given the $28 price (no discount) because it's a special order. He told me to buy it online.

Cucumber seeds need warm temperatures to germinate well. It sounds like you have tried to provide that and still not gotten good growth. Sometimes it is hard to know if it is warm enough or actually too warm inside closed mini greenhouses, especially when they are under lights or in direct sunlight. Might be best to try new seeds. High Mowing Organic Seeds has Little Leaf Cucumber seed available and has free shipping on orders over $10....also 10% off right now. They have many varieties of veggies that are not available on the typical store seed rack. Many varieties have good disease resistance detailed in the descriptions. I like Little Leaf cukes, but I don't see bacterial wilt resistance listed for it. The parthenocarpic characteristic is what I like....early season cukes even if bees are not around or the weather is unsettled. If you want Little Leaf cucumbers, you could try ordering from them....maybe next year if this year doesn't work for you. I've been very happy with their seeds.
