That sounds like a good book! I just finished reading 'The Beach House" . It was very good too.

Stacey, I'm on vacation right now so have been doing a lot of reading. One of the books I finally got around to reading was 'Till The Well Runs Dry. Enjoyed. Tonight I'm going to start The Mistletoe Promise. Will have to put Ove on my list to order when I get home.

I checked our library for A Man Called Ove, and they didn't have it. Just noticed Amazon has the Kindle version for $1.99.

This ebook is 2 dollars today at Amazon daily deals. If you have a kindle you can download it today for that price.

Finished Mistletoe Promise sitting at the pool sniffling. A quick read and enjoyable. I'm now reading Poplar Place. It was written by the daughter of a friend of mine.

On recent Amazon orders I had selected the slowest shipping method for which they gave me dollar credit, so actually I got the book free. Yay. Now to find time to read it.

Bought the kindle version for 1.99. Love the information here.

Be prepared for a slow start, and you will be rewarded. HD and I both enjoyed this. We read it before we went away in late December.

I love it when I'm anxiously waiting for a book and it's finally available! Dexx from Wpg., you really are a fast reader! Chisue, I found that too, that the novel quietly reveals itself at the beginning before speeding up. Nice that your DH enjoyed it too - I'm thinking of suggesting it to my DH, even though it's not his usual "adventure" type reading. But it's a lovely human interest story.

What a lovely, heartwarming book!! I had tears in my eyes, and laughed out loud at his descriptions of things. I love him and his cat! Right away I realized his relationship with his wife.

Oh yeah, it's a good book. At first I didn't think I would like it, but I stuck with it and it turned out to be worth reading.

I loved this book. Wish there could be a sequel. (Sigh...)

I got through 80 pages of Ove and still can't get into this book. How long does it take? I don't think I can remember 50 words of what I already read. I think I am just a picky reader.

Thank you for your comments, JoAnn. Ove is obviously not your kind of book. I too am a picky reader and sometimes have trouble appreciating books that others have found fascinating. But there are lots of books to choose from for every reading preference. In fact, I'm thinking of featuring the Readers' Bill of Rights some week, where one of the points is that no one has to finish a book that they don't like.

I gave myself permission to do that a long time ago. There are too many books and too little time to read one that doesn't grab you.

That's funny JoAnn, I was enchanted right from the get-go. Different tastes for different people.

I tried getting into one of the many books that I had given to me recently. The author is Jo Nesbo and his character is Harry Hole. He's Swedish. I couldn't get into it, but hubby tried and he loves it!
