A man called Ove / Fredrik Backman ; translated from the
Swedish by Henning Koch.

I’m going to provide only minimal information about this
book, because I don’t want to rob anyone of the delicious pleasure of making
their own discoveries in this lovely novel.
The main character in the novel,
Ove, is a curmudgeon with a cranky and short-tempered exterior. There are lots of funny, lighthearted moments
mixed in with serious issues involving Ove and other characters, but also many
important truths.

Excerpt from Booklist review: “If there was an
award for Most Charming Book of the Year, this first novel by a Swedish
blogger-turned-overnight-sensation would win hands down.”
