Thank you, Ingrid! I haven't grown HdB in awhile but decided to add her to my striped rose collection. She was always healthier for me than Variegata de Bolgna. As I recall she gave me remontancy, as Zephirine Drouhin does, but in our current climate, who knows? Time will tell. Maybe I'll just enjoy the foliage! :-) I also prefer DdB's flower to many modern stripes. I am taking a gamble on the striped Tea, Madame Driout. I've never grown her, but decided to give her whirl as one of my few roses in that class. I've only seen one bloom, but it was intriguing--darker pink than HdB and globular as it unfurled. Really quite pretty! I may attempt to post a photo (I shudder at the thought of trying) of DdB, MD and Clotilde Soupert in a vase. I hope Cecil is continuing to heal! Carol

Wow, just wow. I posted the above Art Gallery Expressionism in the browser I've been experimenting with, Slimjet. It is a high security browser with speed. I picked a random unshrunk picture, and when I went to post it, it gave me a message "do you want to shrink the picture to the optimum size for quick posting on Houzz?" I said yes, and it posted almost immediately, like the old days. I got an email from Houzz yesterday for the first time about a post that I did and what followed and I've never allowed that to happen in my account settings. I don't want to be notified if a post that I started has updates. I don't know why it happened. I went in and updated my personal stuff, I don't want to be alerted about my posts or have my email address publicized or anything like that.

Ha! It worked. I haven't been able to post since I changed my email address, I guess. Anyway, I was instructed to re-register with the new email, and it has worked, so now I can start posts at will. Stay tuned.
