Chow Mein Noodles

My husband & I both love chow mein. Although we have a couple of good Chinese restaurants nearby, my husband's low sodium diet keeps us from ordering much from them. Chow mein is always too salty. However, I figure if I made the chow mein myself, I could have more control. My problem is that I'm unsure of good brands to buy, either fresh or dry. We both like thicker noodles with some chewiness. I realize that many Chinese noodles have salt as an ingredient, but, again, I think if I'm careful about the other chow mein ingredients, we should be OK.

Could you suggest brands that you've used? I can pick up a variety of rice noodles in my local groceries, but that's not what I'm looking for. As far as sources, there's an Asian mega-mart about 35 minutes from me that I shop at a few times a year. And, of course, there's always Amazon.

Thanks for your help,

Shambo
