Do You Prefer Over Or Undermount Bathroom Sinks?
Comments (18)I don't think you're making a mistake since you're going with it for aesthetic reasons. I have the portrait suite in my downstairs bath (pedestal sink though) and it seems like you're using it for the look. IMO it's really just the plain drop-ins that have no style to them that look less expesnive. The portrait series doesn't "look cheap" to me. It's the whole package IMO, not just any one element. The type of vanity and countertop you install it in will have as much of an impact as whether it is undermount or not....See MoreShow me your kitchen and/or bath sink that is NOT undermount
Comments (7)Have you tried searching on faucetdirect.com ? You can choose type of sink (bath or kitchen) and then check search terms such as "drop-in" which is what you're looking for. They have a large inventory, though not many drop-in granite or composite sinks. We bought the Kohler sink linked below. It's stainless, though. Here is a link that might be useful: Kohler Vault top-mount sink...See MoreDo you have a vessel sink in your bath?
Comments (9)Okay, these aren't be best photos, but they're the best I can do at the moment . . . and note: I haven't really accessorized any of these bathrooms yet. I did have fun coordinating shapes of bowls, faucets and light fixtures. This is the powder room vanity . . . the sink is shallow, but we haven't noticed splashing, and this is the one the little kids use all the time. I saw this sink several years ago and really liked it. I still do! This is the vanity in the master bath . . . It's the only place I used a tall deck-mounted faucet. We really like both the looks and the functionality. This is one of the guest baths. In this bath and the other guest bath, I used sinks with the faucet mounted on the sink, thinking I could use standard faucets, and the plumber had fits installing both of them. I suspect it's best to buy faucets specifically designed for vessel sinks. The light bulbs show a bit in the fixture because I put in CFLs -- our DD and DSIL are using this bath and they tend leave these lights on much of the time . . . so I'm going for practicality over looks for the time being! The other guest bath has vessels shaped like low hat boxes. Unfortunately, between the last picture and the second guest bath, my camera got knocked off a bench and isn't working . . . I can't believe I did that!! Hope these help!...See MoreUndermount Sinks--Do you get water in your cabinet??
Comments (2)No -- you have adhesive and/or caulk sealing everything and no guk rim collecting around the sink. I don't think it is a standard caulk, but I didn't do it -- I just know that it is very secure. You will love hoe much easier it is to sweep something into the sink and to clean your counters....See Morerisforremodel
