Thank you for letting everyone know your computer problems have been overcome. It is always gratifying to know something worked for those that offer help but just as important is letting any lurkers know so that anything they may learn from a thread can be deemed useful perhaps.

I have always used songs in the MP3 format for WMM. I can put multiple songs into WMM - It is also very easy to trim the songs and to blend them together. You can also narrate onto the slideshow if you have a mic hooked up to your computer. The folks at the Movie Maker forum are quite helpful. I learned a lot from them. I also answered one of your questions over at the photography forum - about making a picture in the shape of Alaska.. Here is what I did: I took a digbat font that had the states - enlarged it and filled it with one of my pictures. Very simple! Sounds like you are woking on a neat slideshow!

OH man NO is right definitely never try to get rid of windows xp sp2!!! Carol please any time you are thinking of getting any type of program come to one of these forums or any good computer forum and ask first!! There are many many bad programs out there that are just hoping someone will come along and give them money for programs that do nothing or even worse they try to sell you a program just so they can then have your credit card info. I would not have advised you to get the one you got either it is linked to a lot of bad websites, I doubt you will get any assistance from them either. we can give you links to very good programs that are free that will do a good job. The one I gave you for the superantispyware is a very good program that is super easy to use and it is free I would advise you to download that one and use it, I even gave you a link to a step by step tutorial you can print out so you can follow it along as you install and use it. AND absolutely NEVER ever buy or pay money for anything that just pops up on your screen when you are on the internet those are all BAD!! Just how did you come to find the delux shield that you did buy???

Thanks raven that was quite interesting. LOL his disclaimer was slightly daunting but he has to protect himself. I do always like those 'howto' pages that show numerous screenshots so that those who may be cautiously considering doing a task can at least 'see' the steps involved. I still have 'Slipstreamer' from when I did Win2K and XP so I imagine it will be still suitable. Interestingly he only used XP with SP2 but suggested going from SP1 to SP3 might work. I would suggest to anyone reading this and considering having a go to slipstream SP2 first then use that CD to slipstream SP3. Somewhere I read of issues where people had tried installing SP3 over SP1 only so why take a chance?
