This was on another post. I'm just posting here to get it noticed. Hope that's OK with you grams33.

I
know this isn't the way to send a comment but I could not get it to go
if I just wrote it. So- for give me-but will someone please print the
crusty bread recipe baked in a Dutch oven>
Also why can't I write a message on here-it keeps rejecting it because I
have no title-but I did. This is the onlty way I could get it to go/

Speedy
No Knead Bread

Ingredients

cups bread flour

1
packet (1/4 ounce) instant yeast

1
½ teaspoons salt

Oil
as needed

Preparation

Combine
flour, yeast and salt in a large bowl. Add 1 1/2 cups water and stir
until blended; dough will be shaggy. Cover bowl with plastic wrap.
Let dough rest about 4 hours at warm room temperature, about 70
degrees.

Lightly
oil a work surface and place dough on it; fold it over on itself once
or twice. Cover loosely with plastic wrap and let rest 30 minutes
more.

At
least a half-hour before dough is ready, heat oven to 450 degrees.
Put a 6-to-8-quart heavy covered pot (cast iron, enamel, Pyrex or
ceramic) in oven as it heats. When dough is ready, carefully remove
pot from oven. Slide your hand under dough and put it into pot, seam
side up. Shake pan once or twice if dough is unevenly distributed; it
will straighten out as it bakes.

Cover
with lid and bake 30 minutes, then remove lid and bake another 15 to
30 minutes, until loaf is beautifully browned. Cool on a rack.

CI's
recipe also suggests putting a large sheet of parchment paper into
the dutch oven before dropping in the dough, to make it easier to
remove when its done. Let the bread fully cool before slicing, to
enjoy the crust to its fullest.

Your bookmarks are exactly where they have always been unless you have changed to a different browser, like from Firefox to Internet Explorer or Chrome etc. If you by chance are meaning your clippings from the previous gw that's different those are now under your Houzz profile area, from what I have read not all of those transferred. If you want to find the posts you have been active on that too is under your Houzz profile area called activity. Go examine the whole profile area including the advanced settings and all of that, you probably want to change some settings there. Remember that you need to hit the update submit button to make changes stay.

Fori, you didn't like building Lincoln Log cabins when you were a kid? I loved those things! FWIW, we installed a paneled wood garage door on our previous home. It looked great, but man was it heavy! It started to sag in the middle after a few years. Stain also tended to fade quickly due to weathering/sun exposure. Our current home has Armstrong-Clark Mountain Cedar semi-solid stain applied. Would be nice if I could find a latex paint that was a similar color. I've also seen people who apply a faux wood finish to their metal garage doors, but they all seem to be in Florida (?) There's that "faux" word again. I didn't mean to imply there was anything wrong with the new developments near me, just that they weren't original craftsman homes like they have in Seattle.

It's of course easier to be pragmatic when the situation is not personal but here goes....your friend is trying to dictate from beyond the grave so to speak. She is asking that her possessions be disposed of in a way that requires you to meet two conditions that are probably not possible (they must be appreciated and must stay in a set). Agreeing to honor these stipulations will also entail a very arduous and most likely futile effort on your part. The reality is that deciding one's possessions must be handled in a certain very prescribed fashion after the owner is gone is a way to try to keep control in the face of the reality that after she is gone, the books become objects that must be disposed of. So the goal actually becomes a choice: give books to people who want, need and will read them OR find a specified donor who will agree to certain conditions (books must stay as a set etc) that really don't have any meaning to anyone other than the deceased person who collected them. And last but far from least, it is an entirely personal decision on YOUR part as to whether and how much time, effort and aggravation you feel you want to take on to try to honor this request which is not practical and likely to be unsuccessful. Aside from keeping books in sets, it's become increasingly more challenging to dispose of books in general other than the very wise and thoughtful options raised in this discussion. Sadly, as the generation raised on 'real' books passes on, all those volumes don't find nearly as many takers as perhaps once was the case.

I'd tell her I need more info if I'm going to help. It's possible she doesn't want to take it to a shelter since they would check for a chip and contact the owner. If it is a neglect situation, then offer to help her find the right resources to rescue the cat. Contact the local SPCA for advice and also cat rescue groups. If she has already 'rescued' the cat, she should still talk to the groups above for advice. One never knows how bad the cat was being abused & neglected, so I'll hold judgement.

I am interested in trying this bread, but will it work well with regular flour? Also, my Dutch oven is stainless steel clad Revereware. Will that work as well?

I copied this recipe from a thread on the KT several weeks ago but have not tried it yet. I think Raven and several others have made it. Maybe they will be able to answer you questions.

Yes, you can use regular flour . Can your Revereware take heat this high? If so, it should work.

PS: I make this bread often and it is wonderful. Crusty and sense, and you can re-heat the leftovers to get the crunch back after a few days. Also freezes well for later eating.
