Eagles
We have been blessed with the visit of 30 or more Eagles on Presque Isle Bay. There is some open water around the shipyard and that is filled with ducks. With the brutally cold winter freezing most waterways, it seems the bay has become a focal point. I do not remember seeing more than 3 or 4 in previous years. A dozen snowy owls and now this scenario has me scratching my head. I believe it may point to the health of the bay. The industry that heavily polluted the Great Lakes for years has been scaled back from what it once was. Just a thought. I know that fishing has been much better than a couple decades ago. P.S. Not thrilled with the forum

Comments (9)I installed them about 12 years ago in my parent's house, and then installed 7 more in an addition they put on over the summer. So far they have held up great without any issues at all. THere are some minor water stains on the inner wood sills, but that is from condensation sitting on there, not from leaking. If you are looking for a good comparable aluminum wood clad window, they are a really nice option vs Marvins (whom are one of my favorites). Most of the windows are double hungs, with a couple casements in the kitchen. Also installed a new casement in their addition basement for egress. They will cost you from 8-10% more over the 400s, but still should come in slightly under the Marvins. I am personally going with full fiberglass windows however. If you are after the wood look on the interior though, check out the Marvin Impervias. N0 more boy scouts. The white sand is tough to find on the beaches anymore. They truck in a coarse sand for replenishment. They built a series of break walls to stop the erosion. It is a sandbar that is constantly on the move. Left alone there would not be much left of what you saw 65 years ago. The nice sand has
moved itself towards the tip. It is not the unspoiled nature hike it once was. It is a multi-use park for anyone looking for fresh air and views of the lake and bay. Very common to have 35000 people on a summer weekend. Bike trails,hiking,boat rental,concerts, etc. It is still wonderful, just different, People unfamiliar with the Great Lakes are astonished at their size ,with the waves and sunsets,ship traffic.We have several hundred miles of shoreline and Lake Erie is the baby.
