Raven, I need help with Dragon Touch

My father got a Dragon Touch for Christmas. I set up it up for him to use Dragon to dictate emails, and it worked fine. But now it says "Unfortunately, Dragon has stopped." Any suggestions? TIA

I have never used that particular program so unfortunately I have no specific knowledge. However the thing to always try is this. Click on the settings icon, scroll down to apps, click that, scroll down to that apps name, click it, when the information box opens there is an option to force close, click that ignore the warning and continue. Then go back to the program and try to restart it. The other option is to reboot the tablet. However for some reason on some apps doing the force close works best. These instructions would be what to try with any misbehaving apps.

Let me know if that works.

That didn't do it. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing it, but I keep getting the message that it has stopped.

My welding area has a roof over it and that's where I hide out in the blazing afternoons when my tale is a dragon. If I was a little more coherent by that time of day I might have remembered I have a thermostat and a timer from an old toaster oven and incorporated them in the critter. The body is a 4 cylinder engine crankshaft. The neck is a piece of chain. Neck collar is a broken seed plate from a planter. Beak/nose is a cycle mower guard. Hips are pieces from a motorcycle engine. Tail is twisted barbed wire with a piece of circular saw blade on the end. The rest is just bits and pieces of rebar, pipe, conduit, and pump screen.

Here is a good place to start searching? When I put the Card I bought for the Tablet into my computer directly, a notice popped up about formatting it but I didn't for fear I would screw it up to not work in the Tablet again cause that card was warned against formatting it as stated here where I ordered it from. Back a few months ago, Raven recommended me an affordable 10.1" tablet. Initially, I purchased one to read books. Now, I love that thing. I found out more ways to use it for. My Dragon Touch tablet only has 16GB of storage but I had purchased a couple 256GB USB flash drives. Now, I have plenty of storage. Yes, I can also use memory cards on my tablet but currently, flash drives are faster and come with higher storage capacity. Not to mention, they're easier to transfer files from one pc to another. I've converted many of my DVDs (movies & documentaries) to MP4 so I could play them on my tablet. It's great when I can hook it up to a TV screen (via HDMI) and watch these videos at my mom's place. Everyone get to watch them and I don't need to carry so many DVDs. May I please add about the tablet's camera feature? It can also be used for live view conversation through Skype as well. As far as games, oh my, so many free ones to play with. I had to limit myself. Otherwise, nothing else would be done. Btw Raven, remember how I told you that the volume is low? Well, I found a case with speakers on eBay. It works great now. In case anyone is interested, below is the link to the hard case. It comes in a few different colors. It's an epiphyllum, probably an epiphyllum hybrid (which typically contain other, similar genera, including Disocactus, Pseudorhipsalis and Selenicereus). These are commonly referred to as 'orchid cactus', but they are neither a true cactus nor an orchid :-) They are a semi-tropical succulent related to cactus that produces large, very showy flowers. They do produce an edible fruit (NOT a dragon fruit) but these are scarce on indoor plants. They are epiphytes, meaning they take advantage of other, larger plants - like trees - as a support system, like most tropical orchids do, and do not require soil in their native habitat. For home gardeners, they grow perfectly well in a good quality, fast draining potting mix. Unless you live in a semi-tropical climate or certainly a frost free zone (Z 10 or higher), these are not hardy outdoor. And they are pendant in habit, with those long branching structures cascading over the side of a container to often a significant length. One normally grows them in some sort of hanging basket structure or on a tall plant stand to show off the plant and its long branches to best effect. btw, the flowers form at the tips of these flattened leaves/branches so any pruning should be done cautiously. There are scads of websites on epis and if you do a bit of searching, they will provide all the growing info you need (rather than my repeating it all here!!). I find they are very easy to grow and will reward you with some gorgeous - if short-lived - flowers. I've got one setting flower buds now after being moved back indoors from its summer holiday location. Here's just one example of an epiphyllum website but do not stop with just one!! And be sure to check out any that show photo galleries of the blossoms - they are incredible!!

Sometime that happened to me when I turn the tablet from horizontal to vertical view (or vice versa) while the app is opening. Once the tablet is steady, I was able to open the same app again successfully. This happened only to apps that are specifically made to view one way and not the other. Maybe, this is his problem as well? If so, avoid turning the tablet while the app is loading/opening.

You might consider contacting the app manufacturer and see if they are aware of this problem and if there's an update or something to fix it. Sometimes an app that worked well with one version of Android doesn't with another and they have to update it.

Thanks! I think I will contact the manufacturer. I don't know why it's so hard to find online help for this. I don't run into those problems with my iPad. My father just wants to use it for dictating emails (his typing skills are very rusty), and he's almost 93 years old, so he needs something that is easy to use.

yes it is definitely the dragon type program and not the tablet that is the problem. Do you know for sure if the one installed is specifically for the version of android on the tablet? Is your dragon touch tablet kitkat 4.4 Android? Make sure the dragon naturally speaking app is the one for that version. Which one of the Dragon apps is he using? I did not realize there were several of them.
I was reading the reviews over on the play store and found where a representative had posted this information to someone that was having his app crashing too
