banana stopped growing without fruit. should i cut it down?

my second go around of growing dwarf cavendish inside. the first time got a lot of bananas and all was wonderful in the world. then i took a pup, replanted it, and waited the 1.5 years, and now the second time around, the plant seems to reached maturity size, stopped growing, and no fruit has come out and it doesn't look great - it is leaning and leaves are drooping and yellowing. the pot was in the same spot as first time i grew bananas successfully, in the same pot, new soil, same watering process, etc. it has been 2 months and no growth, no sign of any banana flower. i'm pretty sure hope is lost here, but if not let me know. why could this happen?
