What are you working on this week? My DD and I are putting the finishing touches on our Zelda Quilt-Along today and will launch it on Sunday on my blog. She is a web designer and has been working on a new logo for me and is also updating my blog.

While I have been waiting for her to do her thing, I have been sewing a new quilt for Samantha. I bought a pattern and 10 fat quarters last week. I finished the top last night. I have to confess my mistakes in this quilt. When I made the last row, I sewed the last block on the wrong end. I saw my mistake and ripped it out. I layed out the rows and started sewing them together. When I got to the third row, something was not right. I had sewn that last block upside down. I think that was a jinxed block! lol

I don't know what I'm doing.......I came across this the other day http://alyciaquilts.blogspot.com/2014/03/scrappy-saturday-teal-edition.html and decided I had to make one, so went through the scraps and pulled the reds from 1 1/2" and down. What a blast! I have the blocks all made and on the design board ready to sew together. Might made a few more in various colors. Isn't this fun?

Aw, Linda! I hate it when I do stuff like that. At least you caught it early...I usually find stuff like that when I'm quilting or something. LOL

I worked on my PP miniature last Sat. then got sick Sat. night. Sunday I laid on the sofa all day, reading and napping. I only had a bowl of cereal and half a bowl of soup to eat all day! I made it to work all week even though I still didn't feel well. Yesterday I finally got to feeling normal again! I still don't know if it was a bug or something I ate.

That was a long story to say that I still have a way to go on the miniature. :) I have 14 more PP blocks to make. I'd like to get it finished this weekend.

Linda, that sounds like my luck. I planned a sail boat quilt for DH's cousins baby and knew it would be close with the sky fabric. He tweaked it a bit and now I will be shopping for more sky this afternoon. At least it is a scrappy quilt so if it doesn't match it will be ok.

Donna, there is a lot of that going around so take care of yourself. One school system completely shut down because so many students and teachers were sick. There weren't enough substitute teachers available so they shut it down and are doing a deep clean in all the schools this weekend.

I am in Salt Lake City for work. I am doing some hand applique in the evenings while sitting in the hotel room. Tomorrow, if I finish work in time, I am going to my favorite quilt shop in the country. It is American Quilting in Orem. I went there the last time that I was here and loved it. Sunday morning, I fly back home. I am dreading Atlanta airport...It was pure he!! flying through there yesterday. I spent several hours last night with one tiny pp section of my wallhanging. I'm surprised none of you heard the expletives. Today I made the February lotto block. That went well anyway. I think I'll work on finishing the Chinese Coins quilts, but maybe I'll do some applique on the Peekaboo Monkeys quilt for our new grandson. I don't know how you all switch from one machine to another so often. After three weeks with my Jem, I am stumbling with my 6600. I called the LAQ where my daughter's quilt is being done. I guess you should never let her know that there's no hurry. We brought it there weeks before Christmas, and it's still not done. Two months seems like a long time, but I guess I'm spoiled. The woman I usually take my quilts to turns them around in a week or two. This one is getting a custom quilting instead of a panto. We're going out to dinner with my husband's sister and her husband. I guess you know you're getting old when you go to the early-bird special. Have a nice weekend, everyone.

Just back from the quilt show... what a blast. I talked with several people and saw some amazing work. I sat down at the Bernina booth and test drove a 10,000 dollar machine... I don't know why I torture myself so! I wanted to take pictures, but I didn't know if it was allowed... I went to the strawberry festival one time and took picture of a candle that looked and smelled like a pie and the lady who was selling them almost had me sent to the electric chair, so I didn't want to repeat the experience. There were some applique patterns and mini-quilts that I liked... also a magnetic seam guide for the machine, but I didn't buy ANYTHING because I really am saving for a new machine... I shocked myself when I walked out empty handed, and it took a lot of self control! Came very close to buying rotary blades, but the prices are better at Wal-mart than they were at that booth... Donna, it was very nice to finally meet you face to face! Your quilts were beautiful and I don't know how you got such small pieces of fabric through the machine on those microscopic half square tirangles. Lois, I too have said a few curse words when quilting... when that happens I remind myself that it is supposed to be fun and take a break. I rather enjoy paper piecing, but have to make the same pattern about 3 times to get the hang of it... I usually flip to the wrong side and cut the part I'm supposed to flip... not good! Hope things get better for you. The Birds of Paridise is beautiful! I'm looking for a paper pieced pug design for a gift for an aunt that loves pugs, so if anyone knows where I can ifnd one, please let me know. I found one that was 5 dollars, but there were no instructions on how to pay for it or download it...

Very pretty quilt, Vasu. I'm not quilting this weekend. I have not quilted nearly as much as I expected to this month. I've been golfing and I was recently introduced to Mahjong. That is a game that can really become an obsession. Tomorrow we are playing in a golf tournament for folks here at our condo complex. I'm having way too much fun in the sun, I'm afraid. We went whale watching on a sailboat today. I've got to get down to some serious quilting.

I am once again working on Lily my my oldest UFO (from 2004). My one & only hand stitched, hand quilted quilt. I had taken it off in 2012 when I needed the frame to machine quilt a different one.

Never got Lily back on until Friends came and pinned the quilt on my frame for me. I will finish before I make another.

Finishing up the Spider Web. Only the binding left to make and sew on. I will be glad when that is done. And then I will probably spend all of March knotting and burying threads. There are a LOT.

I finished my Mom's cross-stitch bookmark this week and am now working on one for my Sister. Hoping later this week to start hand-piecing some more Granny Square Quilt blocks.

I finished quilting a disappearing 9 patch superman quilt for my husband's best friend today. He is going through chemo and my husband wanted a quilt for him. My cousin, whom I am teaching to quilt, pieced it for me and I quilted it today. I will bind it tomorrow and we will deliver it to him next weekend. I then loaded two twin sized quilts that my cousin pieced for her twin grand-daughters. I loaded them side by side so that they can be quilted at the same time. My cousin will come over tomorrow to start quilting them. Busy weekend!

I found some sky fabric! What I had was very pale blue and white mottled, this is solid blue, but the same color blue. Since this is a scrappy quilt, it will work fine. So I will be sewing after all.

Glass, I remember Lily! She has been a challenge. Do post pictures when you finish quilting.

working on a very bright (LOUD!) quilt for my son. Ga Tech motif...I call it a wonky top! Bright yellow/black/white with a wild border. will sew on the borders today and then begin the sandwich. It's very long, vs wide - for a recliner...he specified l o n g. Looks odd to me, but they get what they order!! and, he wanted minky for the back. we shall see.

My machine was taken in for a check up yesterday...she'll be there all week....so I pulled out the old featherweight and cranked her up. I was able to make the March lotto block, so I got part of my sewing fix in....I feel so much better now.

I think I'll organize and clean up the stash today... It's either a blessing or a curse, I have a semi-walk in closet filled with shelving for my fabric, I love it in there, but it easily gets out of control....can't imagine how that happens! Gremlins....

Any of you gals check out the quilt challenge K8 and Jen had or have going on on Facebook? Fun stuff...

Val, I finished posting my 5th challenge day yesterday. Beverly, Jackie, Linda/OH and Jayne are in on it too. Sorry if I missed anyone else. And, I'm working on a purple heart now. I love heart blocks. :-)

I've finished my FB challenge, but anyone can start it... Post 3 quilts a day for 5 days and each day ask a quilter friend to do the same thing.

I spent all day yesterday with my "UFO" friend (the one that has the same taste as me) at the Mid-Atlantic quilt show in Hampton, Va. Had a blast and got just about everything on my list. I will try to post some pics from the show later today.

Finished the sailboats today! There will be "water" between the rows and I need to play with color placement, but they are made.
