How do I delete photo before it is posted?

If you upload a photo from your computer to a post and perhaps make a mistake and have picked the wrong photo when it appears BEFORE you have clicked on the Post icon/button, how do you delete that photo before posting to the forum? There doesn't seem to be a "review" of what you intend to post BEFORE it gets listed on the forum so you can make a change OR am I missing something. I know you can edit once you've posted but how to edit before it is posted? Thanks.

I will try. I see no Edit or Delete prior to submission.

I was wondering about this also. I liked the prevue feature on the old site. Now I have to hope for the best. I don't care much for the instant submit button either. Have already clicked out of a thread before hitting submit. Then all your writing disappears. The old GW had more senior features

Once your picture has been uploaded to photobucket (or whatever hosting site you choose), find its web address by right clicking on the image and copying the image location. Some sites may even provide the address in a text box below the photo for your convenience. Let's say, as an example, that the address of the picture you want to post is http://somepicturesite.com/yourpicture.jpg To embed the picture into a post, use the command img src="http://somepicturesite.com/yourpicture.jpg"> You could also include a width attribute for large pictures. Using this reduce the size of an oversized picture for better viewing. The entire command, including the width attribute would looks something like img src="http://somepicturesite.com/yourpicture.jpg" width=400> Note that I had to use special characters to get the commands above to show up here without turning into pictures, but you can use them as shown (with the correct image location, of course).

The easiest way is to open a free account at Photobucket.com. Upload your pictures there. Copy the HTML line ( third line beneath your picture in Photobucket), then paste here in the message area- not in a link. You can paste multiple pictures regardless of size. You will be able to post pictures on any other forum, too. After pasting your photos here, you should see them when you hit " preview " before you post the message. With the set up here on Name that Plant, you can post only one picture and the size is limited. I've pasted three pictures from my Photobucket account below to show you.

Hello mtnlaw, Here's the steps that you need to take. I'll try to keep it very simple as it's a pretty simple process but I'm not sure of your computer knowledge so I won't skip anything. 1. You have to sign up with a hosting service on the web to host your photo's. I use Photobucket.com, it's a free service for you to use. 2. After signing up, upload your photos from your computer to photobucket.com. You will see a blue button that mentions uploading photos. 3. Click the button and find where your photo's are located on your computer and click the photo and choose upload. 4. After uploading the photos, look under each photo and you will see a few different options for code. Look for the 3rd line I believe under HTML. Copy that code by right clicking your mouse on top of it and click Copy. 5. Return to Gardenweb and in the Message area that you type in simply paste that same code in the box. 6. Depending on how you want to insert your photos you can write your text above and paste all the code underneath each other to show all the photos in order. If you want to add text underneath each photo simply after pasting the code skip a line and then write the text you wish to use underneath the code and continue from there. 7. Hit the preview button to see how it looks. You can always go back to make changes before hitting the final submit button. Hope this helps! After doing it once or twice it's cake. Thank you!

Here is the "official" guide to posting multiple pictures in GW. Please use the info in this thread below. donaleen, I've never had a problem posting pictures from Flickr here. No offense, but I found the thread you linked convoluted and somewhat unhelpful for a newbie trying to learn how to post to GW. So, berardmr, please read buehl's official thread below. Okay, I now just tried after I posted and loaded another pic and I noticed that when I double click on the pic, there is a box type thing that goes around the pic. I hit delete on my keyboard and it disappeared. I'm not sure what to call that box like thing. Thank you hoosier_nam.:)

Julia, it did not work with me

After submitting you can edit the text but can not remove a picture, at least I could not

Arif: This is what I do before submitting. Load the photo into my post, double click on the pic and a box appears around the photo and then I hit Delete on my keyboard. I have a PC versus a Mac. Here is a pic of the box that appears around the photo. It is a line with little boxes that goes around the photo.

Well that didn't work Try one more time

That works. I used the houze photo button to load pic from my computer. The photo now shows before posting (did not before) theirs a little x in corner. Click x picture goes away before posting. Use can use the right side of houzz photo to upload from computer without uploading photos to houzz.

Okay, let me try what you did Patty. I was using the Camera Icon before but using the Houzz Photo works too and I did see the "X" in the corner of the preview before I hit Insert. I think though the Houzz Photo Icon loads slower than just the Camera Icon. Wonder why. The pic I posted before is SEMINOLE WIND. This one is CONCORDE NELSON.
