I've been in the biz for 30 years so here's my opinion. About 14 years I go my business considered Kabinart. At that time, several of my kitchen industry friends advised me to stay away from that line. Other than that, I have no other experience with the line. Shiloh is a great cabinet line and they use the same finishing process on Aspect as they do their regular line. Also, with Aspect, all finished ends ar 1/4" finished veneer (NO vinyl or melamine matching wood grain ends!!!!!) With many other brands in this price range, you would have to upgrade box or end panels to get real wood on the ends. I would also keep their standard drawer guide. I personally do no like their upgraded drawer guide....it's not an upgrade. The standard one is better. To me, the finish is more important than the box construction. Even the cheapest of cabinets that are certified, will withstand 20+ years of wear and tear. THE FINISH is what's the most important (to me.) I am OK with the plywood dovetailed drawers! They will hold up fine and are very strong! If you want to save the $, there's nothing wrong with them. The only thing I would rather have with the hardwood drawers is the finish. I believe plywood drawers are covered with melamine type material.

The devil is in the details. How are the cabinet sides finished? Interiors? Veneer center panel or reverse raised panel? What type of molding and how much? Slab drawers vs 5pc. 8K is easily explained by the small details that a consumer doesn't notice and understand. Notice, and understand. Both have good quality finishes, so pick the one you like the best, with the professional that you work with the best.

Yes shaker vs. raised is personal preference. I don't know much about the Shiloh brand, but assume if it is comparable to Kraftmade that it is a pretty good cabinet line. We have installed many Kraftmade kitchens over the years and never really saw many problems with them.

Here's a pic of our new display without tops yet. These are the MDF standard construction. Anglophilia is right...they are very heavy! Really only person who benefits from the plywood upgrade is your installer...his back will thank you. :-) Photos below show MDF and also a couple of the drawer options: standard wood or laminate in a laminate gray metal finish.
