Every year is different; weather variations & crops grown nearby can have an enormous impact. In my area, I think that many insects this past year were fooled by a very warm early Spring, and came out of dormancy only to starve to death. Drought also may have helped, by keeping wild populations of insects down. This was a double-edged sword. I had very few caterpillars, but I also had almost no ladybugs... which usually wipe out my aphids in July without any help from me. My home & shed were full of dead ladybugs this Spring, and without them, the aphids were more of a nuisance than usual. Fortunately, lacewings & wasps (!) reduced their numbers in late Summer. Yellow wasps continue to amaze me... I'm starting to think of them as friends. Mgatlin, there is a good chance that your OG techniques influenced your results to at least some degree. I am a firm believer that healthy plants can fight for themselves, and that you should feed the soil, not the plant. Keep it up!

Thanks Dewaine so much for identifying the bugs for me! You have no idea how long I've been trying to figure out what these little boogers are!! I guess it's good that they're not "known" to hurt Plumerias, but like you I will still spray with Insecticidal Soap just in case. Now to my next problem...WHAT DO I DO ABOUT THE LATEX SITUATION?? I HAVE ALREADY PRUNED SOME OF MY PLANTS BECAUSE I KEPT CUTTING BACK AND CUTTING BACK LOOKING FOR THE LATEX TO FINALLY OOZE OUT AND IT NEVER DID, BUT THE TISSUE INSIDE IS ALL NICE AND GREEN AND SOFT, JUST NO LATEX. WHAT DOES THAT MEAN? THE STEMS ARE A LITTLE SOFT, BUT I JUST THINK THAT'S BECAUSE I HAVEN'T WATERED THEM FOR A WEEK..ANY HELP OR INSIGHT WOULD BE APPRECIATED! THANKS!!!

urlee, I know what you mean about dialup. I just got high speed in February. I did find the answer to my problem with OE. Just on the off chance something might show up I checked my e-mail settings at my server for my e-mail. When I clicked the button to make changes it showed I had nine letters (shown as dots) in my password, but I knew it should have only 8. I deleted what was there and re-entered my password and saved it. I then went to OE and low and behold it worked. I have no explanation how the password could have gotten changed since it has worked since Feb. when I got high speed and they helped me set up OE as my e-mail. I don't know what my friend did to give me a little more speed, but I don't think he would have been in my server website. Go figure? I am just glad I found it, and it is working. Jane PS: No one is touching my settings or whatever again.
