How do I insert a picture into my post?

Hi - I'm having trouble with the new look. I'd like to make a post with some pictures, but there's no way to put a picture in my post. Underneath the text box, there's a green box that says post, but no icons or way to add an attachment. I also tried to copy my picture out of a Word document, but the text box won't allow me to paste in a picture. What am I doing wrong? I've tried closing my browser and clearing the cache, but that didn't help.

If you put your cursor into the box as if to write a post, a line will appear below giving you the option to post photos, links, videos or Houzz photos.

The options are right there above the green Post box on my computer. Can you take a screen shot of your posting box?

If you have your pictures hosted on a server somewhere, you can simply link to them using simple HTML codes. EXAMPLE: my photo's are on a hosting service called "Sparedollar.com". SO, to insert the pic within the body of this image, my HTML code is as follows: http://members.sparedollar.com/russjack/Mum_Garden_1650.jpg" height="500" width="375"> Now all you'll have to do is replace everything in red! Debbie, If you have any problems, send me an email and let me know exactly what problem you are having. I'm sure I can help. Marion is right. To post on GardenWeb message boards you need to use some 'photo hosting' company, like Photobucket or Kodak. There are others that work, but you have to choose one of them. Photobucket is easy and free so it still seems like a good choice to me. You can't insert a link on the message board directly to your computer (and you wouldn't want to for security reasons). So you put your photos on a website like photobucket and then insert a link in your message to the picture on photobucket. It's very easy. Just look at all the people who have figured it out! Kate

You need to create an account in a site like photobucket. It is free. Then you upload your pix to photobucket. Please edit your pix to be messageboard size. Then you can go to your pix on photobucket, copy, then as you are typing in a message here, paste. You will see the html code. When you hit preview your pix will appear.

Mayflowers, on mine the options only appear once I click in the box to start replying. Do you see them before you click in the reply box?

No, a click makes the options drop down. But then I get a box that says Submit. So I think she's talking about when she's the OP because she said the text box says Post.

Yes, I'm talking about when I am the original poster. My office computer has Internet Explorer 10.0.23 and the buttons under the text box for attachments don't appear. Also, I can't see the attachment buttons or submit button under the comment box to reply to a post (hence, my reply this evening instead of when I first saw your comments). Unfortunately, I'm not able to download another browser on my office computer. Does anyone have a solution for IE?

I don't know if this will be any help to you, but here is how the text box looks (to start a new post) on my PC with Interner Explorer 9.0.8112.16421. (So, older than your version of IE.)

And here is how the same text box looks on my PC using Foxfire:

The icons at the bottom of the text box are different for the different browsers, but I do have an icon to add photos, when I use my (old) Internet Explorer. The first icon on the left is the one that allows me to add a photo.
