Thank you for the welcome Jasdip. We have a calico cat named, Calico. She showed up 3 years ago as a stray. Got her spayed & all of her shots & she has been here ever since. Not a cuddly cat, but oh well she has nice house manners.

Welcome Janey!! I'm Mare. I live in the frozen NE Pa. About 100 N of Philla. My favorite hobby is Cross Stitch. I did some Crochet many yrs ago, I made a couple afghans, nothing fancy. My Mom was an avid crocheter. I hope you enjoy this forum. There are some great people here.

Well Jo sorry I missed your post. I bought a small counted cross stitch of a lighthouse, have not done that in years but I love lighthouses!! What part of N. Al. are you looking at? I love the Guntersville & Scottsboro area.

And thank you Mare, I am going to give counted cross stitch another chance. Years ago we did several counted cross stitch Christmas ornaments. Yes my husband did a few also!

Welcome from the opposite end of the country. Our day is going to be beautiful although too warm for this time of year. I'm in Metro Vancouver and We could do with some of the snow and cold temperatures that the east is having because all of our ski hills have had to close.

I too love to read and although I do walk I prefer trail running. No dogs but two snot-nosed snobby cats allow us to inhabit their home.

Welcome from friendly Iowa. I moved here 9 years ago from the SF Bay Area. I love it here and would never move back to CA. My son moved here last year. I am retired and love taking care of little babies. I watch my cousin's little one 3 days a week. She was 8 weeks premature and has grown fast. She is now almost 4 months old and is full of smiles. I like to quilt and sew. I love basketball and have season tickets to the Iowa State women's games. I go to the men's games whenever I can get a ticket. The men are rated 11th in the nation and second in the Big 12.

Welcome from sunny Florida although I call Massachusetts home for eight months of the year. I'm a quilter and an avid bridge player. My two lovely daughters live in New York City and have rising careers although there are no grandchildren yet. Glad you found us.

Welcome from the middle of South Dakota. I learned how to crochet years ago but never kept up with it. I think I could still do it though. Right now I am making rugs on a flat loom. I use old sheets to make them. I really enjoy doing it.

Another friendly "Hi", Janey from southwestern Ontario, sort of within spittin' distance of four of the Great Lakes - not far from jasdip, whom I met a while ago, at a gathering with Nita AZ when she was travelling through our area.

Welcome to KT, Janey and Whynottryit. I live in Manitoba, Canada, where we are having a spell of below normal temperatures (boo!). I'm a very avid reader and post Book of the Week each Thursday. I don't crochet but do knit. I recently finished a scarf where I knitted a bead into each edge stitch. It turned out really well and I got to explore the world of beads at the same time.

Holy cow.....would you look at all of the Alabama people!

Welcome back, I am not from Alabama lol but I am in the South. The North Houston area here.
I love watching the birds through all of my windows and skylights. There is a red headed and a yellow headed woodpecker that comes and pecks on the big tree right outside my office window. Some days they are both there at once. Very neat to watch.
I had a road runner that would come peck on my windows out to my pool at my Dallas house, it would bring me treats for some reason. Bugs and worms etc, tap on the window and watch me me through the window. He loved hanging around the pool. I miss it.

I grew up in greenville, Al and have kin all over the state of Al. Love to cross stitch made afghans some years ago for my sons and their wives.

We have six dogs, I know, adopted a little 20lb Scotty type and she gave us a houseful of puppies. Hubby could not let them go to the shelter.
