Canadian Seed Exchange (?)
Comments (2)There was talk of getting a Canadian Wintersowing Seed Exchange forum since Canadian residents can't take part in the WSing exchange forum. A few people from the US, Denmark and a couple of other countries commented that they would like to take part as well. Now the rumour is that we might be getting a global seed exchange forum. I think it would be very cool to trade with people from other countries, so I have my fingers crossed! I don't know any more details, but if anyone's interested you can check out the Suggestions & Comments forum. There's a couple of posts about it over there. Wendy, I hope you don't mind that I moved this over here, but I didn't want your question to get deleted for being on the other side :) Take care, Cindy...See MoreSeed Saver's Exchange: cooking vs. seed beans?
Comments (1)If you want to grow for dry type beans, The "cooking" beans should do fine. Not as much care is given to maintaining true seed but that is the major difference. Of course if you are growing snap beans, you will not find them in the dry bean section....See MoreWhy did my A. palmatum seeds germinate this year?
Comments (2)Japanese maple germination can be very slow and irratic. It can take 1-5 years for the seeds to germinate. I think it's fun to collect the seedlings and see what you get. The true leaves will show up next year. There is no harm in letting them grow a year. If you like them you can transplant them to another location in you garden or a pot next year. I have a lot of beautiful seedlings....See Moredid you delete my post???
Comments (7)Considering that I just wrote a lengthy response, clicked on the link to read the rules for the forum and didn't realize it DID NOT come up in a new window causing me to lose everything, it very well may have been my fault initially. However, I do believe I have seen moderator intervention before so that's all I was trying to determine... did they do it again? I think they would have emailed me under normal circumstances if that were the case so it was probably me. Still, I got the word out in this thread. :-) I don't believe that TOFGA is a competing forum and did consider that beforehand. I see these as complementary forums in that, the more that one succeeds, the greater the overall interest in gardening which benefits everyone. Anybody here ONLY rely on GardenWeb for your information??? I viewed the post more as a public service announcement for the folks in Texas. Brad...See Morezzackey
