Beware of anyone emailing you privately for Morning Glory Seeds!
Comments (150)Interesting individual. I read a bunch at the top of this thread and then gave up, so I haven't read the more recent postings. One thought that kept popping up in my head is that she probably is sick--clinically mentally ill. Perhaps with addictions issues on top of that (self-medicating perhaps?). Some of you posted quotes from her. The ones where she is responding to direct confrontation sound a lot like someone who is mentally ill. If that is the case, then she probably can't help what she's doing (at least not without mental health treatment and her own committment to deal with her illness). It would also account for the fact that her behavior is completely illogical (plant the damn things--you'll never have to beg seed again!). I find, when dealing with someone who is seriously mentally ill, that one of the most therapeutic ways of dealing with them is to remain calm, non-judgemental, and set CLEAR, CONSISTENT boundaries. So the blunt messages people have sent her telling her they will not trade with her under any circumstances are actually a good thing! This is sounding preach-y---NOT what I meant. I really want to say to everyone out there who has posted, thanks for protecting the rest of us! If she's really ill, then she probably won't go away, but at least we have the good souls on GardenWeb looking out for us and spreading the word! Diana Lynn PS--Could this post be kept near the top of the Seed Exchange page as a sort of permanent alert? Would that be appropriate?...See Moreis there a way to private message users here?

Comments (2)Thanks, Chuggerguy. The unlisted video is an interesting idea. That little video taught me about private, public and unlisted. While I view youtube and have an account, I've never uploaded video. So I suppose I can upload video - but those grandparents without a youtube account couldn't see a private one - just an unlisted one. The article for sharing large files is interesting. I'd be curious about what's current - although I guess I can upload the video to my dropbox. I know how to share a dropbox link - just didn't know I could upload video. This is a great start and may be all I need for this one piano piece. But I"m still interested in any other ideas as I can see that sharing video is going to be increasingly desirable. Thanks. Comments (8)I've gotten a couple of private emails and they were legitimate questions vs some come-on. In their defense for not asking publically, the questions were about something in a photo I'd posted to illustrate some point that had something else in them the person was asking about. For example, if a the thread was about corner cabinet configuration, but my photo also included the kitchen window, the person might have asked about the trim we used on the window. Totally off-topic for the thread, but of interest to that person. And yes, one of them did have a blocked email return. I recently posted a comment much like yours, jacuvall, but I also answered the question, which I think was about flooring, and hoped that person would get the answer. Clearly, whoever sent you an email didn't read my previous warning, or forgot to check their own account for the checked box, so a second advisory is good. As for concerns about attracting a bunch of unwanted solicitations, I keep an email account specifically for ordering things online or other activity that might result in unwanted stuff in my inbox. I don't check it as dutifully as the one I keep just for personal email, but I do get there every couple of days. With that, I'm off to catch a plane to go celebrate my grandson's 5th birthday!...See Morescrappy25
