ikea sektion info on ikea site
Comments (21)I'm also wondering if the 15" deep wall cabinets won't be problematic with many over-the-cooktop microwave ovens, most of which specify maximum cabinet depth to be 13" or 14", even Whirlpool's (who makes Ikea's appliances). A deeper cabinet may interfere with the door swing at the far left that expects to extend beyond the adjacent cabinet door when opened and may infringe on the space slightly. With regular exhaust hoods that won't be a problem, but I wonder if some will look a bit ingrown surrounded by cabinets that extend 3" deeper from the wall than the hood was designed for. Many I've seen have surfaces around the sides and/or top that are designed to be flush with the surrounding cabinet fronts, which are normally 12" from the wall not 15". It appears the base cabinets will be offered with several top drawer depths. Is one of these going to be 6" tall to match many dishwasher panels on those that take cabinet panels but have exposed controls? (as well as many 30" undercounter oven control panels). Or are they trying to match an increasing number of dishwashers that have 4" tall panels rather than 6" with those shallow drawers? With either the Euro or US systems, I don't get what's so great about shallow drawers nestled within deeper drawers. Just seems you'll need to open two drawers to get at the lower section instead of one if you used separate drawers....See MoreIkea Sektion Question
Comments (12)Thanks - I had no knowledge of the snipping tool! Here is a clip of that corner.I'm not too keen on leaving that corner empty. it would make the wall look so unbalanced, especially of I left the wall cabinet off too and I need that cabinet for glassware. If you see the blue line, that is where the dishwasher door is now, with an angled cabinet between that and the door wall. So what I am planning will open it up quite a bit. Here is a picture of the complete layout I have planned. The top leads to the living room and lake views. There will be a deep counter there with stools. The door on the right leads to the dining area. The refrigerator is on the left just above the pantry door. We can't move the exterior window/door because the house is brick and it would be too costly....See More30 in Whitehaven Sink with Ikea Sektion Base Cabinet
Comments (20)I too want to give a shout out to Kimmy for her detailed instructions. I just installed a whitehaven following them. I will add this the curve for the cutout is 4" so a 4" hole saw on your drill will give you the perfect cut then you can use your circular saw up to the holes on the sides and bottom. I don't own a jig saw so I used the same hole saw that I got to cut my butcher block with a reveal (also 4" obviously). In addition to Kimmy I want to thank Joseph for recommending Pete's sink mount. I realize most on this thread have already installed using Kohler's instructions but Pete's sink mount makes getting everything in and level super easy and you can adjust up or down with the sink in place unlike Kohler's 2x4 method. This is an FYI for anybody that comes upon this thread later. Steve - Ikea sells a kit to attach a door to a drawer that has a template to drill the holes. I realize you don't need the hardware but it might be worth it for the template. https://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/00280755/...See MoreIKEA Hacks - Compilation of IKEA Hacks

The second is a set of comments beginning at "July 17, 2015 at 7:46PM". Update 07/24/19: Unlike GardenWeb, Houzz does not show times, they just show things like "X hours ago" or just list a date. I think they also fiddled with the times/dates overall. The first Bbtrix post is now simply "April 17, 2015". Search for "bbtrix" on the thread to find it.
