Want to get rid of all that white?

I've seen a couple of fixes posted on other forums...for Firefox you can use No Squint add on...and change the background color (and maybe the text, I'm not sure yet).

For Chrome, you can install one of several add ons that allow you to change the color yourself. I'm sure IE has something similar.

Here is another fix to make it easier to tell what threads you've read. Maybe Houzz will adjust things here, but until then, this might be helpful...Changing colors of read threads

Thanks olychick! I just installed No Squint. I see a nice soothing background color I chose, no more white. For anyone that installs No Squint on Firefox, you have to restart the browser. Once you do you'll see a + or - in your toolbar for zooming. To change the text and/or background color you have to go to your extensions in Firefox, click on "Options" next to No Squint, and under "Colors" tab choose your background color, font, etc. So far it seems to be universal for all web sites, but it's a nice temporary fix if/until they fix all the glaring white here.

EDIT: I see a downside that I can't find a fix for. Houzz/GW changed it so that a thread already read was a different color than a thread with unread posts, like GW used to be. Using No Squint you can change the colors of read and unread links on a web page but that feature apparently doesn't extend to thread titles within a discussion forum. With No Squint all thread titles here are the same color whether I've read them or not. Bummer...

The best thing to use is "Bacillus thuringiensis sub species 'kurstaki' " Period !!! It's available as ..Green Step Caterpillar Control, from Gardens Alive. Andy I feel your pain I had scale on some indoor plants over and over. I use Ortho Malathion Plus Insect Spray Concentrate now and nnever saw scales again. Make sure you spry the soil also because the youn scale live there.

isherwood777 - I think you will be very happy with your Limelights - I planted about 10 of them as a hedge (so my poor neighbor won't have to look at my compost pile, compost bin and water collector-thingy) - this is their 3rd year and I think they will be great. I had blooms my very first year in spite of these horrible winters. In spite of the one poster's impression, I have also done a lot of research on these dud All Summer Beautys. I'm tired of being unimpressed when they take up so much room. After even more reading about them, it appears as if I might possibly get a few blooms on the new wood in August (though I had zero last August) - I think I'm going to shop for dwarf Quick Fires - I have the larger ones and they bloom even earlier than my Limelights and no worries about our winters. Thanks for your nice post - I was feeling irritated by a particular response.
