I do envy you you own such beauty mine did not do too good this year the 3 that I had as of last year died on me this year they were variegated brugies(snif snif) one of my versicolor died and also a white one, this year has been terrible for my plants however I have managed to keep alive my hibiscus except for 3 but hope to have a better year next year Marcie

If it is at all possible for you top post pictures of your plants, please do. This will help us with identification and allow us to see any problems. Also, if you have the original seed packet, please take a photograph of the front and the back so that we can read any information it may provide.

If you give a sharp tug to old ratty looking foliage it should come right off at the main body down at the crown. If you tug and it is fairly resistant to coming off it means it's not ready to detach from the main plant yet. Leave it alone and try again later. Leaving lots of short broken off leaves down near the crown invites pests to nestle in between the old and new foliage and water to accumulate. Best to clean the old brown leaves out by stripping them away from the crown just as you would snap a stalk of celery from the main body.........Maryl
