Comments (8)" It's only 10ft 7in. so it should fit on a slab and not need a seam right?" When Silestone tells a fabricator a jumbo slab is 63" x 128", that is the minimum useable yield he'll get; he might squeak out another inch or two even on a regular slab (55" x 120"). You probably weren't charged extra for a seamless jumbo, but what you've gotten is two remnants from different batches. He woulda made good money on this one, had he gotten away with it....See MoreQuartz countertop color to match flooring - HELP HELP
Comments (5)One idea is to play with this simulator: https://www.msisurfaces.com/virtual-kitchen-designer/ It isn't photo realistic, but you can play with different options and see how things look in a general sense. I found it helpful in knowing what I do NOT want, at least....See MoreNeed Quartz/Granite Countertop color/pattern suggestions
Comments (1)Hi The posting for above photos did NOT go through, hence our question for above post is below. We have a 20 year old home that we are re-doing our kitchen. See pics below. We are kinda stuck with keeping our exotic mahogany (reddish acacia) engineered wood since flooring is still in good condition. We dont' like a all white sterile looking kitchen. Want suggestions to see if we need to go with an off white (see pic) or a black material with light veining. don't want plain looking or too busy looking material. We plan to take the quartz all the way behind the stove to the ceiling for easy cleaning reasons. Rest will be some type of glass tile. https://www.caesarstoneus.com/collections/supernatural/empira-black-5101/ any suggestions on colors/names would be appreciated. thanks, Chris...See MoreQuartz Counters Color Issue
Comments (19)@Katie B. I agree, and anything is better than the previous year-plus of appliances living everywhere there's no construction. It's all lessons learned :) The square footage is roughly 2900 sq. feet. There is an attic that goes up another 15' or so above the plaster ceiling. The basement is like a dungeon and was walled off in the 50s where the furnace/boiler used to be. I've been wanting to try to access that side, but that would open another can of worms... Not sure regarding the fireplace. Originally, I think there may have been some sort of iron stove as there is no permanent hearth. It's been sealed forever and it has a twin fireplace on the opposite side of the laundry. That room is the same footprint as the kitchen. It's a stair hall that leads upstairs. A new hearth and a chimney professional would have to take a look at it. The chimneys are massive brick lined/cut marble clad, and are very tall. The roof is very steep, original slate....See Moreannkh_nd
