Go to a store that has lots of samples. If you can, bring a sample of your cabinet color.

You can order 12" x 12" samples of Cambria - I expect the others as well - just to be sure.

Sahmmy, that's actually true! We have a golden retriever and that's my favorite color! I just can't find a quartz with that color that's not too busy.

Any other photos of kitchens with quartz countertops would be appreciated so I can see what they actually look like to get some ideas. Thanks!

Cambria has several reddish colors. Have you not seen the samples in person yet?

Will you be able to view your slabs? Cambria is known to allow resin pools that you'll want to template around.

I have seen samples and even brought some home, but I think they're too busy, so I still can't find one that's right.

We are not able to view the slabs as the closest place is over 5 hours away. I was told that you don't look at quartz slabs and pick it, granite you can, but not quartz.

They also said Cambria has the best warranty and customer service. I was told not too worry about resin pools.

Any advice since I can't view the slabs? Another good quartz brand with really good warranty and customer service?

Talk to the fabricator. Tell them you are aware that resin pools of a certain size are not considered a defect, but you do not want any in prominent places in the kitchen. We've seen some examples here where there's a huge resin blob in the middle of a run, at the front - the slab could as easily have been rotated so the blob was at the back instead.

Make sure the templater puts a big note on his work order to watch out for resin pools! Hopefully if you bring it to their attention, they will either choose a relatively pool-free slab for you, or minimize the effect.

You can see some small pools in the photo I posted above, but I don't have any larger than that. I am very happy with my Cambria install.

I think this had been said in your other posts but all Breton manufactured quartz is the same. China is the only one I know of that is not using Breton technology, so steer clear of that.

Many people have posted photos of resin pooling in their Cambria counters. Check the warranties yourself and compare. Cambria will not warrant resin pooling as they consider it an intended variation. They used to consider it a defect if it was larger than a quarter, but not anymore.

If you need two slabs, there should be enough material to template around a blotchy area. Make sure the slabs come from the same lot as there is often color and/or pattern variation in different lots.

This may be a perceptual issue on my part, but I just looked at every example on the site that a2gemini posted, and I don't perceive any as rustic. They all seem sleek and modern, to varying degrees, to me.

kitchendetective, I do somewhat agree with you, and would actually do all wood counters if I could, but very impractical. What countertop do you think looks rustic? :)

Do your cabinets look like these? I personally really like the darker quartz with no movement.

I have quite light rustic hickory cabinets. One of the colors we are looking at is Cambria Brownhill. I cannot see a full slab in person, just a 12x12 sample that I can bring home and look at. The sample looks quite warm(medium with a darkishness), but every photo online looks like a light taupe color which I tend to think is somewhat blah and not warm at all. Yes, I know it looks much different on the computer compared to the real thing. I did see one photo that showed it as a lot darker than most photos, but is that the true color of it?

I like darker colors, but I've heard that if it does scratch, it shows more on a darker plainer color. Maybe not as much on the darker swirly ones. I don't like a totally solid color, but not really busy.

Does anyone have Cambria Brownhill, and if so, are you able to take a photo of it that actually shows the real color of it? It would really help to see a good photo of the color of it if possible. Thanks!

I looked at the caesarstone(dreamy marfil) and it's way to light. I'm looking for a medium to darker(very warm, but not super dark like black). If anyone has cambria brownhill or a darker cambria, could you post a photo?

On the pictures of installed Brownhill, it looks lighter to me than on sample pictures.

What about Cambria Oxford, Nottingham, or Reading?

Are those photos of Brownhill? If so, is that the true color of it? Is it really that light of a color?

There's no way of knowing what you'll get when the slab arrives. I was looking at New Quay at a tile store. They had two 12" samples. They looked like different countertops. Cambria has a disclaimer on some of the undersides of their samples (maybe all) that says the sample is only a representation.

I've only been able to see a 12x12 sample which looks darker than most photos online, but since most photos online are so light and greyish, it makes me wonder what a big slab would look like. Yes, I know photos don't show true color.... If anyone has a medium-darker cambria and could post a photo of it, I'd appreciate it.

You can google image for Cambria Oxford, Nottingham, or Reading. Just go to google, click on images, and do a search. Or do a search for Brown Cambria countertops

I don't think you're understanding my point. You could look at a hundred photos and your installed counter could look lighter or darker than any of those, or the pattern could be slightly different. With New Quay, one sample was swirlier than the other and the swirls had the color, giving a darker, busier look. You take your chances when you buy a counter without viewing a slab. Same goes for granite. I'm trying to save you from being disappointed as you seem very particular. My philosophy with picking finishes from samples is "no surprises".

How far would you have to go to see the actual slab? If it were me, I'd made a road trip out of it, if necessary. I've had a few do-overs getting our house done, but just things like a light fixture. I wouldn't want to spend the $$ on counters and not be sure I'd love them.

I would have to travel over 6-7 hrs at least to see Cambria. If I were to go with granite, there's a place only 20 minutes away. I may have to go check out granite, although I'd really prefer quartz.
