IE11 Select Copy or Print item

Software prob. I can no longer select a section of a page to copy and paste or print. I went to IE help but no joy. Hope you can help.

Is there any kind of error message?...you didn't say
Are you trying to copy/paste text? or images? or both??...you didn't say
Can you copy/paste from other programs besides IE?...you didn't say
Are you trying to paste into a Word doc...a spreadsheet...something else? ...you didn't say
What exactly are you trying to copy/paste that worked before but doesn't now? Your question hints that somehow IE is involved but beyond that...you didn't say.

No error message. I was trying to copy a recipe and paste to a document Abiword. All sites opened in IE is the same problem...no way to select a section of a page to copy.
The problem is on all IE pages. Previously I had done it many times--copying or printing a selection.

Did find a manual of sorts on the Kindle -- Apps > Help & Feedback > User Guide. Wanted to know more about Music, but "Loading. Please wait..." - never did.... The other topics appeared. If I had a photogenic memory, putting a manual on an electronic device would be great. I need a printed page right next to the thing I'm trying to learn how to use! LOL I had previously looked at several links shown in the search engine for "Kindle Fire HD Owner's Manual" and other similiar wording. Found several places that wanted to sell the manual. No thanks. Just looked again and found the manual in PDF format by the nice people/person at Manual Buddy. Printed that out, but decided I'd still like to know more. (Guess there's no pleasing some people. :) ) Went shopping at (what's becoming my home away from home) Amazon and bought 2 paperbacks: My Kindle Fire HD by Jim Cheshire and Kindle Fire HD: The Missing Manual by Peter Meyers. There! If I can't learn more with bigger print and colorful pictures -- well, there's no hope for me. Ha Thanks all for your help. (Books aside, I've bookmarked the links you've given me, and I know I'll be visiting them.)

RE: "I just want to print a part of the page as highlited" Absolutely the best way that I have found to do any type of screen capture is to use FastStone Capture - selections, scrolling pages, windows, etc. Loads of options and you can choose printer, file, editor, etc. Click Settings Tab then Settings on the drop down menu (it is so obvious that you don't realise at first that there are 2 menus). It is a small programme that can run all the time without affecting the computer's performance, or just start it when you need it. My link is to the last free version that will do everything ever needed although there is a newer paid version that does even more! Do you still use a printed dictionary?

When on-line I use Google for simple spelling questions -- it's great for that. But a good printed dictionary can be so much more satisfying. I use an American College dictionary from the mid-70's, my Dad still has an even bigger, thicker dictionary from the 40's that I grew up with. I like the tactile feeling of a heavy book and thin paper. I like skimming words alphabetically close to the word I'm interested in ... sometimes it reveals a relation between words that I wasn't aware of. I like the simple line illustrations for some words. I even like puzzling out the pronunciations using the special characters, and following the family tree of language development. If I'm "stuck" looking up a word's meaning on-line, I feel cheated, lol.

Sure Ogrose, Supplies: MODpodge paint brush photo or photo paper and printer gallery stretched canvas from craft store heavy book for a weighted press So easy, just paint the canvas black -don't forget the sides as these will be visable and give the finished look. Allow dry time. Paint the canvas front with Modpodge and place photo. I use a popsicle stick for an even placement. Put a hardcover (heavy) book on the inside of the canvas for a bubble free finish. Allow dry time. Optional-but I like the finish, paint the photo with Modpodge and again, allow for drying time. I gave these out to grandparents and family for gifts. We have a professionally done one next to the one I did and everyone always says, "Oh, I want more of these too, but they are so expensive..." Mine hangs at 7' high and no one can tell it's my work. If you want a custom size just use an exacto knife on the sides after you place the print/photo (before final finish coat) I also use industrial velcro to hang as they are light and that way I don't put holes in my logs (log home).

I would suggest trying to copy/paste the recipe using a different browser...and I would suggest Firefox. Even if you want to continue with IE (which is okay), having a second browser is important (as a backup...even if you don't use it). If you can copy/paste with a different browser, that would indicate that something is wrong with IE. If you cannot copy/paste with a different browser, then the problem is probably elsewhere.
