Thanks for the suggestions. New devices at my house, no. Neighbors, who knows? But, is there an antena on Wayne Dalton openers? I saw that on another thread, and looked for one but couldn't find it? Didn't really see any place where one would hook up, but, there was one hole that looked like it was an outlet for something to plug into. Also, I can't really see the back of the drive unit well if that is where an antena goes? Any additional info on Wayne Dalton units would be appreciated..

I'm so sorry. I won't say i know your pain, because i don't, but i have also lost my father suddenly. two weeks ago today i found him in his truck. The medical examiner said it was a massive heart attack. I never and i don't think he knew either that anything was wrong. I love my dad so much! He was the greatest dad ever. He taught me how to fish, hunt, play golf, and anything else i wanted to learn. When i grew up (i'm 34), he was still my favority fishing buddy and golf partner. I can't tell you all the good my dad did for our community. I was so proud of who my dad was, and would brag about him to my friends all the time. he was a great man. Now i can't even think of fishing again, or playing golf. I know he would tell me to go and have fun, but i don't want to. I just want my dad back. I feel cheated. I should have been there, my dad should have never been alone when he went. It probably wouldn't have mattered, but at least ... i maybe could have comforted him in some way. I hope that he wasn't scared or hurting badly. God, why? the weekend before he left us, we were suppose to go fishing, but it poured down the rain. my question is if God knew he was going to take my dad, why couldn't i have that last trip. i know that's selfish, but that's how i feel. I miss him so much. I still need him. Just the other day i said to myself, "dad would know what to do here" and started to call his cell phone, only to realize that it was on the table beside of me. I love you dad, just want you to come home.

Well that first part was stupidly easy. I borrowed just the helmet while the kid is in school. No problem with it whatsoever. She heeled around it without a care in the world and sniffed it a little when I told her she could. I couldn't get it onto my head, but she was perfectly comfortable with me balancing it on top of my head and placing it on my shoulder. Travie will call me tonight when he's done with his homework. We'll let her walk around the helmet again... maybe sniff and walk around his shoulder pads on the lawn... then we'll have Travie sit and put on the helmet while Izzy watches and have her be calm. I'll let her approach Travie while on heel (on lead with me) and if she does well, Travie can feed her cheese. Then we'll slowly have him change into his full uniform, one piece at a time in front of her, after she's had a chance to calmly examine each piece. Cheese if she does well --- down and stay until she calms down if she reacts. This is so silly. Travie is her favorite boy in the whole world. This is not a game: She's genuinely terrified of the little guy if he's wearing his uniform. This dog is fine around hats, ski masks, umbrellas, wheelchairs, crutches, cats, faux fur coats, garbage men (she'll calmly watch them take it without complaint), our mail lady, the UPS man, and meter readers strolling through our yard... just about anything. (She can even deal with the sight of me naked, lazygardens!) This would be hilarious if it weren't so potentially dangerous. OK, it's still a little funny, but don't tell Iz I said so...

We are out of the state we wish to retire in, but can go look on weekends. We have lost out on several houses that were sold by the weekend. That said, we reviewed comps in the area, and know what to expect to pay for things like flooring and painting, as well as kitchen cabinets and renovating bathrooms. We can do the math on flooring and painting cost, and Have hired enough work on other houses to know what things will cost. A person who takes the time to study the photos online, plus check out aerial views can pretty much figure out the floor plan of most homes. There is the option to walk down the street on Google earth to get a feel for the neighborhood. And yes, since we are out of area, we have had to make this current offer prior to piling into the car to view on Saturday morning. This is a short sale, so we have the luxury of viewing and much due diligence according to our time frame. We of course can't do this on a house on Monday, that is not a short sale, and keep a contract offer open a full week, until we can look at it. These are two totally different scenarios. And yes, I and my husband hatched this bright idea, and If necessary, will do it again to have a chance at a good bank owned REO or a short sale property. There was no way we could have known the city would be trenching two days after we put in an offer. I do, however, fault the realtor for not mentioning tactfully, the junkyard next door, prior to us spending time and money to run up to see the property. Foreclosure sand short sales most always come with repair and deferred maintenance issues. One has to know the percent of risk, or dollar amount of the unknown one is willing to accept. These types of properties are not for everybody, and certainly not for the impatient.
