Last summer I was grilling nearly every night and went through 2 tanks of propane. With the 4 burners you do not want to cook with all burners on high. Placing the meat over the center of the grill with those two burners on low and the outer burners at higher heat settings is preferable as you will experience less scorching of the meats. Cook over lower temps for a longer period of time produces well done meats and cooking over high heat for a short period of time produces medium rare meats. May I suggest that you season the cast iron grating before you start using it? If you take off the grates and wipe them down with cooking oil with a paper towel and then place them back on the grill with the heat on low for 30 minutes or so until they are blackened. This promotes less sticking of your foods while grilling.

Definitely...get out. Don't waste any more of your precious life with this man, and get your son out of a situation that he very well might repeat when he marries. Not necessarily the alcoholism, but how he thinks relationships should be. Not to mention the obvious effects things are having on him right now. Two suggestions: 1. Find an Al-Anon meeting in your area and GO. Even if you don't like the first meeting, GO again. Attend at least 4 or more meetings, you will get something out of them. 2. They also have a great talent for twisting things around so the issue at hand is YOUR fault. I wasted 10 years of my life hoping/thinking my soon to be ex would change. Never happened, because they DON'T CHANGE. They enjoy what they do, and it works for them. He's now got his sights on wife #3, who I'm sure will also divorce him. Finally, please re-read your post. In the first two paragraphs you describe what is really an intolerable, unhealthy and dangersous situation. In the last paragraph, you make excuses for him and actually blame yourself somewhat. Really, you do. Please recognize that none of this is your fault. He CHOOSES to be this way, and if you don't think so, consider that he only treats *you* badly, not anyone else. So he can absolutely control his behavior, he simply chooses not to. And you do not OWE him anything because you are a SAHM. Don't ever let anyone (including yourself) think that way. Please seek some help. Go to Al Anon. Read some books on Domestic Violence. Call a local women's shelter to get information on resources in your area. Look at the NDVH website. Just because he hasn't actually hit you makes no difference. He is abusing you emotionally, and in most cases, this will escalate to physical. Besides that, most agree that verbal and emotional abuse is much worse than physical. Finally, use another computer for this. If he has access, he can see what you have been doing, including websites and email. He can easily install a Keylogger, which will record everything you do, and they are undetectable. That might sound alarmist, but better safe than sorry. If you can't use a friend's computer, your local library has them. Good luck to you, and never forget, HE WILL NOT CHANGE.

Again with this? Well, actually, mosses do tend to prefer a pH on the acidic side. They don't really mind one slightly on the alkaline side, of course, but the one thing they really don't like is having most metals applied atop them. Nor saltier conditions, which desiccate them very easily, of course. So applying dolomitic lime onto them could lead to magnesium toxicity quite easily, as well as sop up excess liquids. Since most limestones aren't anywhere near pure, you're also applying any other metals that were in there as well. I'd have to experiment. That comes from my four billion years of experience, which I believe beats other people's thirty years, so shut it. I can therefore demand far more respect due to my superior, but of course equally unproven, experience. Nyah. John, let it go. In her eyes, she's right, you're wrong, she's more experienced, and you're a peon. It's wise to realize she's not worth it and go on with your life. Have some fun poking at her when she only sees black and white, and laugh at her otherwise. Yes, adding lime can get rid of moss via an indirect process where adding calcium (not dolomitic lime) loosens the soil, opening it up and increasing the drainage by widening the pores in the soil. That encourages more air, which increases bacterial action, and so on, over time, which drains the soil, decreasing water in it, and removing the tendency for mosses to form. Which they'll happily do in full sunlight if it's wet enough--I can offer, as proof, my back patio! Similarly, raising (or lowering, although that approaches the impossible) a pH from the wildly inappropriate into something that will grow a good lawn can abolish mosses (or other invading plants) by the process of allowing grasses or other plants to flourish. Mosses, quite simply, cannot compete with grass if grass can dominate in that area. You can do the same by opening the soil with any good soap product or increasing aeration using organic material. It's not wise to fertilize with a urea-based fertilizer that you're not going to water in or have rain on pretty fast and lime at the same time due to the loss of nitrogen to the air, but again, that "urea" part is critical and left out (of course) in her explanation above. If it rains within 3 days? Fine. Watering it in shortly? Fine. Letting it go a week or more? You'll lose about 15% of the nitrogen to the air or so. Maybe. You can use organic fertilizers with complete abandon when you lime. It's fine. They don't work the same way anyway. So that fertilizer part? A half-truth at best and another example of black and white thinking that's only partially explained.
