How to Fix/Adjust Toro 20017 Self-Propel Cable
Comments (17)I have the same model, now laying there apart. I specified the exact part # for the traction cable at a dealer, got the parts manual for my serial # online. But the old cable had a ball at the end that retained it in the spring. The new one has like an "S" curve at the end of the cable, at both ends really. I see how to insert it at the handle assembly. But there is no way it will go into the spring. It looks like the one I got is made to insert into the bracket at the transmission end rather than through the spring. I sent an email to Toro, maybe they will tell me I was sold the wrong part. Oh, and there is no way that black plastic part at the housing was going to come off by sliding it through the slot into the bigger hole. I had to chisel it off, no matter because the cable was broken anyway and the new one comes with this plastic part. If this works the photo at the link shows the old cable and spring at bottom, new one at top. Here is a link that might be useful: photo...See MoreAnnie's Arm
Comments (48)Yes, Elery is here and doing some of the cooking. However, the girls are coming for dinner tomorrow, so we're having a rolled pork loin stuffed with apples and bacon, some scalloped potatoes and a lemon mousse cake with the last of Arlene's Meyer lemons. Oh, and I have to get off the computer and go bake some bread, thank goodness for that Zoji bread machine! Oh, it's too bad, though, how I can't wash dishes well with one hand, or scrub those pots. (grin) Right now there's not a lot to be done on the farm, there's too much snow to fix fence and those big round bales get moved with a tractor. My nephew lives there and fills the water tank and gathers eggs, minor maintenance stuff. So, I guess it's a good time to be laid up..... Annie...See MoreKitchen swing-arm faucet
Comments (4)I'd lean toward Delta. Delta and Moen are both easy to repair in their own way. As for durability and feel, choose a model who's box isn't too light (weight-wise, which means more plastic), as well as one that is a bit more expensive. It seems to matter. Also, it might help to get some first-hand advice and buy from a real plumbing supply instead of the big box stores. BTW, the pricing can rise quickly with the various styles, which you may or may not want. But the basic Delta works well....See MoreStrong arm Project Management for DADD
Comments (11)We already did the shades from The Shade Store 73-5/8" and 73 3/8" wide inset mount at $360 a pop in two rooms. Not cheap but I have had good luck with these on various projects. We did save some money by moving a venetian blind the previous owners left behind to another 73" and some odd window. This was supposedly a custom blind but it is 72". I don't know if they measured wrong or just ordered a standard size. The tight fit is not needed in that window and we can camouflage the gap with curtain panels. It will also not be lowered up and down, which is difficult. It will stay down and only the louvers will be adjusted....See Moresombreuil_mongrel
