What do you think about these counter stools ?

Hello Everyone - I wanted to add a pop of color to our kitchen so bought these counter stools...What do you think ?

I am also in the process of choosing a backsplash (had posted a message related to this few days back) but that apart, I am looking for ideas to add color to my kitchen. Please help.

Btw - I had ordered 3 of these counter stools, one is yet to arrive.

They are nice and a nice way to add color to the kitchen. I agree that if you want to keep them, then add more of the green elsewhere...a rug in front of the sink, a valance over the window. I don't think I'd add it in the backsplash though as it's more permanent. I'd keep the backsplash more neutral, maybe use some metallic accent tiles, so if you want to change the color scheme in the future, you can easily.

Thank you all for the responses! And Bpath- If I go, I will ask about the floor :) Writersblock- That was my concern, too. It is laminate and it's a good price...but it's not that much more on the Ikea website. We would be cutting out a pretty big section for the drop in sink...so maybe I'll keep looking. I still want something light green, blue or aqua. I know, almost everyone says to go with something neutral....but it's only 2/3 of the counter on one side of the kitchen. And half of it is going to be big white sink! LOL Does anyone actually use this type of counter top? Now, I'm wondering if it's going to work if I cut out a big hole for a 46" drop in sink??? Not my sink...but looks a lot like this one. Again, my friend gave it to me, when remodeling.

What do you think of the Kohler Impressions ceramic countertops/sink?

I don't have one, Holly. I'm thinking about using it if we remodel our powder room. I also found a brand called Xylem. I know it comes in a 37" but I can't find info about the counter. I like the sink--it's the same as the popular Kohler Ladena sink. The ledge seems a little shallower, but I do like the ledge on the Kohler. I also like the sink better on the ceramic Impressions better than the cast iron. Xylem:

Mitered edges are no less conspicuous than stacked. In fact, the seam is facing up toward your eye, not out at your waist as with a stacked edge. Mitering is used to continue movement in stone throughout an edge. No seams are ever "invisible". Inconspicuous maybe. White engineered stone is notoriously difficult to seam inconspicuously. Had they dressed the bottom edge and laminated the finished side of the piece to it, that seam would have looked much better, but would have cost more. I'd agree that it's within the engineered stone industry standards, but would be rejected as a Corian lamination.

Why not go for drama and try soapstone? You won’t have to worry about your beauty products damaging the stone. And you can get an integrated sink so you won’t have that scuzzy line where the sink meets the counter.

They do not look comfortable but the color and pattern look good. I think you should follow the advice of K9arlene.

Errant - Yes there is stil room to comfortably walk behind them.

k9arlene and AnnieDeighnaugh - I want to add more green to the room and love idea of a rug in front of the sink...I may also add a colorful accent piece on the kitchen island and replace the existing one...

About the backsplash - Sorry did not clarify that earlier, I do not plan to add green in the backsplash, I intend to go with a brown/black/beige tile backsplash....

emmarene - I had my doubts initially too but they actually are pretty comfortable...

I like them but agree there needs to be some coordinating green somewhere in and across the room. A valance or roman shade plus a rug would be great.

I like them and think they DO look comfortable, with the upholstered cushions. Definitely bring in more green as has already been stated. You're well on your way to a lovely and inviting kitchen!

I like them! Not to sound like a broken record but I agree with K9arlines comment that you need more green to tie them in. I think a fruit bowl or tray on the island along with some pretty dish towels in a basket, or a canister. I'd love to see a window treatment over your sink that would complement and balance the bold pattern. Maybe a green ticking stripe? Or aybe not exactly this ( no Blinds for sure) but you get the general idea.

I think because of the backs, they look a little big in proportion to the amount of overhang on the counter they're up against.

I like them very much....they are comfortable, but a word of warning...if you have small children like I did.....I had some white leather ones like those when my children were small and I was forever cleaning out "crumbs" from the crack in the back of the seat.
