Cute Cute Cute...but difficult to judge size of the doll itself. Would a small water balloon fit if you blew it up and covered it with paper mache? Just cover it and shape the cheeks and nose as you go along popping the balloon with a darning needle when it is totally dry. The hair looks like a brillo pad pot scrubber that my grandmother used! Let us know how you do making a replica.

I think I would check Michaels or some other craft store for wooden balls or beads.

Carve a styrofoam ball then cover in gesso to fill the holes and then acrylic paint.

I am guessing the head is a Styrofoam ball covered with air dry clay, then painted once it is dry. The cheeks and nose area were formed by smaller Styrofoam balls. Yes on the gold brillo type scrubber for hair.

Not knowing the overall height of the doll makes it a bit harder to guess, but I think you could take a styrofoam ball and push your thumbs into it at the eye area, forming the nose and eye indents. Then, like mentioned above, cover with a thin layer of clay or paper mache and use that to enhance the nose.

What is the body made of? Wood, cardboard tube, soda bottle? It's very cute.

It is about 8" high, the body is made from a cardboard cone, it is covered with a light weight material. The nose seems like a small bead or pin, the eye area is indented, not sure how that is done. It really is cute.

Maybe you could move some of that hair and stick a straw or screwdriver into the head and see what it's made of.

I like how she made the eye lashes just at the side of the eye, this is very cute~

We made dolls very much like this years ago....a styrofoam ball...make indentions for the eyes and mouth....shape a nose also...then we covered it with strips of cloth soaked in something like wallpaper paste. I think crafts stores have a fabric stiffener...when dry, paint and add features. We used smaller balls and made hands feet and legs also. Alas...I forget what the stiffener was called, but I'm sure you could go online or to a craft store and find it.

Thanks maybe, it looks like the eye area is just pressed in with your fingers, the nose looks like a balled pin, seems like it is entirely covered over with a smooth covering and then painted.

I guess I will have to give it a try and see how it turns out.
