Yes, the panel in back has an odd texture. It doesn't wipe and while it's not wet, it feels sticky. If I've done a lot of chicken or messy roasting, f.ex. the oven starts to smell so I run it as the manual indicates to burn it off. Smell goes away. Perhaps that's a difference between converter and liner? My routine is to wipe down the sides and top with dish soap, hot water and a miracle cloth, a dobie for stubborn stuff. Trailrunner's baking soda/hot water method worked well for burner on stains (don't bake with fat-free half&half as it's a bear to clean boilovers. I think it's plastic.) I still haven't figured out how to clean the glass over the lights as well as the rest -- perhaps Caroline has suggestions. Normally I remove fan cover when cleaning -- I soak that usually to get that clean. No need to baby this oven. It's extremely durable and a great performer (at least for me). No issues.

Those differences are certainly not apparent just glancing at their website, they look like exactly the same oven. practigal: Electrolux recently shut down their premium cooking products factory in Quebec and moved it to Memphis TN. The wallovens, cooktops, and slide ins made there are being replaced by new versions that are one character different in the model number, and have some minor changes. Off the top of my head, I think the ovens have catalytic converters to reduce odors, and they have double convection fans in each oven (previous model only had 1 per oven). Tim, No offense intended, but this is not the place to be seeking needed specialized help. Obviously VC stove mfgr is going to pass this problem to Condar since you used their cat. So please contact Condar first & reiterate what you have stated here. I've read that 1400~1700 was the temp range that cats operate in. That temp range explains your cat cover turning red. However, it is your flue temp that concerns me. So until Condar approves your operation, I would not use the stove. Good luck with it. Dave

Local TV news just had a story on this, said it is "surging" locally. With 2019 reported incidences few and current ones in the hundreds from one location to the next. And manufacturing in China apparently being the driver - law enforcement is looking at scrap yards because the thieves can't get anything out of stealing the converters without being able to find willing commercial buyers. One of the victims they showed clips of was a new car dealer that had had somebody come on the lot and help themselves. In another instance a surveillance video provided by a private party showed it takes about 10 seconds to cut a converter out of a car and leave with it. Not unexpectedly the perpetrator could be seen to be a young male goofball with backwards baseball hat, oversize coat and shorts with stick legs poking out. And was probably stealing to pay for drugs.
