A (double) genealogy surprise

My cousin Roderick, in England, does a lot of family trees for people. Recently he did one for a great-great-grandson of someone associated with Rod's great-grandfather. In the process, he discovered that the man is descended from one of my distant ancestors. (Rod and I are related on a different line.) And then he discovered that the man is also descended from her sister because the sisters' children, first cousins of course, became husband and wife.

Rod tells me it was quite common in those times for cousins to marry. You don't hear about it much these days.

Anyway, now I have a new "third cousin twice removed--twice." ;-)
