The NPR Podcast: "Serial"

Has anyone listened to this? It's a 12-part podcast about a 1999 murder of an 18yr high school teen from the Baltimore, MD area. Her ex-boyfriend was found guilty of the crime despite there being no physical evidence to tie him to the murder. He is serving a life sentence without parole.

I found it very interesting. It has been listened to by millions around the world & has won awards.

I have been hearing a lot about it. I don't actually understand the logistics of when and how one locates and listen to a particular podcast.

I listened through episode 6. I'll have to finish it. I guess the Innocence Project has taken Adnan's case, at least that's what I heard.

Hi sleeperblues, I love NPR with all my heart, all my soul and all my might! I listen to it every day. It is on my car radio and on every radio I have in the house. I have listened to NPR so exclusivly for the past 25 years that I have no idea what other radio stations are out there or what they have to offer. Where would I be without a Prairie Home Companion? Our current, local NPR, is a talk and information format. Morning Addition, Diane Rehm, Fresh Air, Talk of the Nation and others during the week with great entertainment as well as informational shows, Car Talk, Wait, wait don't tell Me, etc. on the weekends. We have been members for years and I even listen during the pledge drives. When we lived in CT we had a choice of 2 NPR stations, one being mostly a music format. I liked them both. I would be lost and ill informed without it. sooey

I too have been curious about the HBO documentary. I don’t have HBO. And I read the news coverage about the new trial ruling being reversed by the state Supreme Court, which means his sentence is being reinstated. At least from the excellent account on Serial , I thought the new trial ruling would be upheld.

A "podcast" is an audio recording. Of a previously broadcast "show" or sometimes they're recordings simply made for distribution.

All public radio stations and the corresponding "networks" have webpages from which you can download or listen to past programs.

You can listen to or download such recordings from these websites. Or, by using a free program like iTunes, you can shop for shows that would interest you and then download them to your PC. You can listen to them on a PC, or transfer them to a portable device like a smartphone, a tablet (ipad), or portable audio device.

Yes, Sleeper, they have become involved in Adnan's case. Amazingly, none of the evidence was DNA tested at the time of the investigation. It has now been sent for testing via the IP. I am anxious to hear the results.

Pam if you click on my link it takes you right to this particular podcast & it has all 12 episodes. I wasn't aware @ the time of the original broadcasts. So listening to these was good in that I wasn't left hanging for a week in between the radio broadcasts.
