The NPR Podcast: "Serial"

Has anyone listened to this? It's a 12-part podcast about a 1999 murder of an 18yr high school teen from the Baltimore, MD area. Her ex-boyfriend was found guilty of the crime despite there being no physical evidence to tie him to the murder. He is serving a life sentence without parole.

I found it very interesting. It has been listened to by millions around the world & has won awards.

Here is a link that might be useful: You can listen to Serial Podcast here

I have been hearing a lot about it. I don't actually understand the logistics of when and how one locates and listen to a particular podcast.

I listened through episode 6. I'll have to finish it. I guess the Innocence Project has taken Adnan's case, at least that's what I heard.

I don't know if it's available in itunes for iOS (never looked), but on a mac itunes has an internet radio section, and if you go there and click the Eclectic tab there are a couple of stations that broadcast old-time content, but it takes a lot of hunting to find them. ETA There is internet radio in iOS, but it's not categorized the same way, so you'd need to know what you want before you go looking.

On the lighter side, I have really been enjoying The Sporkful. Dan Pashman is a very engaging host with an infectious laugh. The podcast's goal is using food to learn more about life. http://www.sporkful.com/ A good recent one to start with is "A Marriage Built on Rum Cake" with Alan and Arlene Alda. http://www.sporkful.com/a-marriage-built-on-rum-cake-alan-alda/ He also has a newer podcast, Ask Mimi, where "famously opinionated 92-year-old food critic Mimi Sheraton offers advice on food and life to audience members, callers, celebrity chef guests, and comedians in a podcast taped live on stage." https://www.stitcher.com/podcast/stitcher-premium/ask-mimi CBC hosts an informative food podcast, The Fridge Light. The episode Green Gold on this history of lettuce was surprisingly fascinating! https://www.cbc.ca/radio/podcasts/arts-culture/the-fridge-light/ Another newer podcast, Unspooled, sees comedian Paul Scheer team up with former LA Weekly film critic Amy Nicholson to watch all of the AFI top 100 movies. https://www.earwolf.com/show/unspooled/ For a much sillier experience, Scheer, his wife June Diane Raphael (from Frankie and Grace), and their friend Jason Mantzoukas, host How Did This Get Made where they talk about terrible movies. Just an hour of funny friends ripping on terrible choices. https://www.earwolf.com/show/how-did-this-get-made/

Good topic! I use Anypod on the Alexa app so I can stream it on all my Alexa devices or Bluetooth speakers as I wander from room to room. Chiming in mostly so that I can find out what everyone else likes. I’m currently listening to Serial season 2 (about Bowe Bergdahl). I like podcasts that do a deep dive into a topic, but I get a little impatient with the slow pace of some of them.

A "podcast" is an audio recording. Of a previously broadcast "show" or sometimes they're recordings simply made for distribution.

All public radio stations and the corresponding "networks" have webpages from which you can download or listen to past programs.

You can listen to or download such recordings from these websites. Or, by using a free program like iTunes, you can shop for shows that would interest you and then download them to your PC. You can listen to them on a PC, or transfer them to a portable device like a smartphone, a tablet (ipad), or portable audio device.

Yes, Sleeper, they have become involved in Adnan's case. Amazingly, none of the evidence was DNA tested at the time of the investigation. It has now been sent for testing via the IP. I am anxious to hear the results.

Pam if you click on my link it takes you right to this particular podcast & it has all 12 episodes. I wasn't aware @ the time of the original broadcasts. So listening to these was good in that I wasn't left hanging for a week in between the radio broadcasts.
