I have a couple of questions about a 5 qt Wagners 1891 Dutch Oven I have. It has a glass lid (knob is glass too)...can this lid be used on the Dutch oven in the oven?
I have had this Dutch oven for several decades, it went with us to each home we lived in. I don't know exactly how long I've had it (been married 34 years so no longer than that) or even how I acquired it--perhaps given to me by someone. I have not used it in about 15 years, I moved on to good stainless steel. But now I want to use it for bread in the oven and wonder if I can use the glass lid in the oven?
When I looked up Wagners 1891 on Google about all I could find are vintage pieces for sale on eBay and Craigslist--is this cookware not made anymore? Any way how to date the piece I have? Thanks!
