Problem with Epson XP820 printer

I have contacted Epson & had computer tech come out, but still need ideas.
Printer will not print any labels I have in documents that I made using either Microsoft Office Word 7 or the Avery label program. My Epson 600 did and so does my lazier Samsung print them without a problem
Epson 600 broke replaced by Epson 820. inkjet color.
It prints my other stuff in documents--like my Christmas letter, but this is the message I get when I try to print labels.
Preparing to print on CD/DVD disk etc.

Tech did tell me how to merge old labels to new, but I missed a couple of steps, even though I wrote notes..He did transfer one set of labels and renamed them #2.That works ok.
I have Windows 7
Any ideas would be appreciated

Can you call the tech and ask the instructions be repeated?

This sounds like a software setting for printing issue, not a printer issue.

Thanks, I did call the tech back and we found out that Microsoft Office does not have a tool button, That was changed to the sort button in the upper left hand corner. Not sure what is going on now. Still trying to solve the problem

I am not enamoured with Epson printers. I have found that photos that were printed with the photo printer faded badly. I have some that are side by side with what I have printed with my HP. No comparison - the HP ones look so much better. It doesn't take long for the Epson photos to start looking washed out. I would never repair a printer (unless it was 100% covered under a warranty) - it is far cheaper to buy new. I hate the fact that we are filling our landfills with this stuff though.

Have you looked in the Event Viewer at Error logs ? Might look in Services and if the spooler is Started, Stop it, or temporarly Disable, and maybe also the items that depend on an active spooler, like TCP/ip PrintServer and maybe other services too. Maybe. If you cross your fingers & hold your head just right - after a reboot, hopefull you would be able to uninstall.

I do appreciate your reply. My absence from home delayed seeing it. I have Windows XP Pro. The EPSON SCAN feature worked fine for a few days and now will not open. I get the little window advising that I can use the troubleshooting guide if I wish. It does not help. I can go to Control Panel, Cameras And Scanners and use my scanner that way. But that way lacks some of the versatility of EPSON SCAN. So the problem must be in some software issue. I have uninstalled and reinstalled more than 3 times, no help. I got the newer version online from Epson, no help. I am even considering buying another computer for scanner use only, adding nothing to it except the scanner software, never using it online, so that software conflicts will not arise. Please post your suggestions. I again might be away for a few days.

I'm having the same problem with printing a page of labels. I don't want to print on a CD. Can you share your solution, please?

Briefly, I go to Office 7, to mailings to labels to options for size of label, then to new document so I can save (if I need to) the labels I am making. Hope this helps
