It's hijack-ware. Just google "Remove Vosteran Search". Otherwise remove it via the control panel's normal program removal function, and then do a full virus scan, preferably in safe mode, if you want. it's not one of the real nasties.

I did remove it via the control panel's normal program removal function. It is no longer appears when I use IE 9 but it does appear when I use Chrome Goggle....and I did do a search for Removal Vosteran ....but I am leary...and a little scared....to use their removal download because I might pick up another virus.....Tks for your input

I removed it!!! I googled "How to get rid of Vosteran on Chrome Google....and did what they said...and it worked....I didn't have download anything. Google Chrome did it for me. Thanks grubby....

I also picked up vosteran when I was trying to download a cnet program. I removed part of it via the control panel. The second part of the recommendation above led me through a step by step path of removing all the nooks and crannies that vosteran had hidden.

I also removed I believe one of their programs called optemiser or something like that. Also something called ace read or ace race that was always appearing at the top of the screen.

I had been getting a terrific number of popups with vosteran especially a nasty one that appeared on the right side of the screen about 3 by 3 inches in size. Right now my system seems to be running faster with no waiting on these popups to finish their thing before I could continue;.

What amazes me is the thinking of those people who pay these idiots to do this sort of thing. Do they think I am going to buy their product after they irritate me with one of their ads.

It happen again last night...when I updated my Adobe Flash Player.....but, I removed it again...watch what you download...read carefully.....this never happen to me when I updated my Adobe Flash Player in the past...

Are you responding to a popup window that says you need to update Adobe Flash? It's possible you were on a site that wasn't safe -- sometimes hard to know that -- and you got a fake message to update. It is not really from Adobe Flash, but a bogus screen that gets you to download crap like Vosteran without being aware of that. If that is what is happening, close that window the next time this happens, go to the real Adobe site, and click on download to get a legitimate update...if, in fact, you actually need one. (Be aware that Adobe is also annoying, because there is a box you have to uncheck to avoid having them download and install McAfee at the same time, but at least you won't be infecting your computer without realizing it.)

Is it possible that this is the way you got reinfected?

That is exactly what happen...and it will never happen again. It was 2:00 AM in the morning...I was half asleep. Boy did I wake up fast....
