Clever, but a little too blunt. I don't want another character assassination as I would be very unhappy, and I don't want to lose my temper.

Snidely,
How on earth did you ever do that?
Now I have seen everything!
Gosh, I wish I had your brains. LOVE to be able to do something like that! Is that hard to do? (learn)
Can it be used for other things (ways) or only on how (what) you did here?
Would love a tutorial on how it is done.

PS:I am speaking on how you made this page go to the Google search box with the moving arrow, then bring up another page like that.

Oh my gosh! You know I Google for info all the time but for some reason my brain just didn't think about it. And, you guys are always willing to tell the truth and not whitewash and/or make something pretty that is not. Thanks a million for your responses.

Snidely, that was very cool!!
But, I have to ask, what's the difference in using that little device, or using my laptop and HDMI cable, which I do all the time? Aside from the fact that it's wireless?

For one thing if you want to stream Netflix to your TV that is not located next to your computer to hook it up by way of cable that little device is wireless and hooks into your wifi. Then you just click the Netflix app on the screen and watch netflix. If your TV doesn't have apps like netflix and such this device does the trick unless it's a very old TV then you would get a roku box for apps. Amazon has their version of one of these devices now called the fire stick. We just got our first smart TV so the apps are built in. I love I don't have to watch Netflix by way of computer any more. Thanks, jasdip. I take no credit, the site supplies the magic.

The short answer to your question is - no difference. Other than, you could use a laptop, smartphone, or ipad/tablet as a remote control when the Chromecast dongle is connected to the TV. There are a dozen or more other external hardware choices to do the same thing including equally familiar names like Apple TV and Roku. The category is called "streaming media players". Additionally many Blu-ray/DVD players come with apps to stream content.

Crafty, you somewhat missed the question. She's already using a laptop connected to the TV as a content source.
