all-refrigerator - Electrolux, Kenmore, Frigidaire or Whirlpool?
Comments (24)I have model E32AR75JPSO Ummmmm, I don't think that I really regret anything. I love the fridge as a whole and love the ability to store the things we use most often, very easily. It would be nice if the produce drawer was easier to remove and wash, but it's not like it's impossible. We go through produce so quickly ( I have to restock a couple of times a week) now that we've changed our eating habits. Well, OK. Maybe 2 full levels of produce drawers, but I've never seen a fridge that offers that. For cleaning, a simple wipe out with vinegar and water spray is enough before it's filled to the brim again. I also haven't looked into getting anything else. My produce keeps for a very long time. We have a ton of space and can see/reach everything easily. The temp is consistent. The only other thing I'd change is how DH opens the door. For some reason, he thinks he's in a tug-o-war match and the fridge ends up moving around as a result. I don't have the same issue, so he's just heavy-handed. I need to figure out how to keep it from moving when others yank on it. But, you don't have to yank unless you want to open it immediately after it closes. Let it stabilize and it's super easy....See MoreFrigidaire vs. Whirlpool stackable??
Comments (7)Frigidaire is an ok brand. not top line but good enough to do the job with out much fuss. I have a Frigidaire washer but not a single unit w/d set up, mine is a separate unit that can stack with a dryer of the same series of machines. I would stay away from the one piece due to one part of it failing and then you have to toss it all and start again, plus the one piece units are the older type with only 3.1 cubic feet and the small porthole door. moving up to the newer 3.5 cubic foot models gets you more space to wash some king comforters and the bigger door opening make loading and unloading easier. as far as it being a good machine there have not been too many complaints here lately on it and none like the older 3.1 cu ft version with it's bad rear bearing problem that some attribute to using to much non-HE soaps and over sudsing it often. I have had mine for just over two years with no repairs or trouble so far. if you are going to buy Frigidaire I recommend buying stackable units not a one piece unit....See MoreWhich Frigidaire/Whirlpool mid-size machine?
Comments (6)Hi: I have a Frigidaire 2140, which I think is similar to the 2940 save for a few cycle differences and the 2940Âs having auto temperature control, a slightly faster spin speed, and a more flexible delay setting, so most of these comments should apply to the 2940. I went with the 2140 and its matching dryer because they seemed to have the best combination of features and price for my needs. I am pleased with the machines and think they are good values. The washer cleans very wellÂsome items that I thought had been getting clean in previous top loaders come out better than ever. The controls are simple, and the machine is easy to use. The normal cycle takes about 50 minutes if the extra rinse and heavy soil options are not selected, so it's not all that time consuming. I find the capacity more than adequate, although I donÂt have particularly large loads and usually do 2 loads per week. This machine doesn't have a heater, nor to my knowledge does the 2940, but because IÂve never had a machine with one, I donÂt know whether that is a deficiency. Some find the capacity of the matching dryer inadequate, but I have no problem with it. The one thing I do find frustrating is the washerÂs tendency to keep redistributing a load when setting up a spin, even when it looks fine the first time. Sometimes, but not often, it will skip a spin between rinses, but that doesnÂt seem to affect the machineÂs washing and rinsing ability. I wouldnÂt call the washer quiet, especially during drain and spin, but the noise level is not objectionable to me. Mine has no vibration problems and is very stable when spinning; however, it is on a concrete floor in the basement, so I couldnÂt say how it would react in your setup. I have had these machines for only 5 months, so I canÂt comment on long-term reliability. So far, so good. There have been reports of washer bearing failures after several years, which have been attributed to various factors, including a design flaw, repeated oversudsing, and the use of liquid chlorine bleach. Others have reported no problems after years of use. I donÂt use bleach and am careful not to oversuds, so we shall see. I also looked at the Affinities, but I didnÂt like the way the doors sagged on their hinges when open. I think that might have been corrected? I donÂt have any experience with the Duet Sports but have seen many positive comments about them. I hope this is helpful. Good luck with your decision.
