Ok, I'll tell my story, which is not pretty, but may, in some small way make you feel better Cliff, if only because it isn't your story. I had mine out in my early 20s, all four at once. All four impacted. The dentist had to cut each one into pieces to get it out. When they were done (it took a team), I was given codeine. I am very seriously sensitive to codeine. The dentist was told this. He didn't listen. So my mouth was so swelled up I couldn't really open it, and I was puking. Yep, out my nose. For days. Codeine is a sensitivity that gets worse each time you take it. That was my last time. It can screw with your stomach so that no amount of bread and milk will fix it. You just have to go empty, and starve for awhile, to get it out of your system. The dentist had one ray of sunshine for all of that agony. He said if I had been puking through my mouth, I might have infected the holes. Thanks doc. Next time, read the chart, that clearly says I will puke on codeine. Hope you're feeling better, or at least better than the kid who was puking through her nose did. :)

Raven, I still have the temporaries. I put off getting the permanent ones, and now I can't remember why. Then I wasn't happy with the perms, and even though I had signed off on them, they are making them over. There were a few little tweaks, and my knee surgery was coming up. I told the girl in the office to make my appointment any time, but I was having surgery around Feb. 10. So she called me the weekend before to say she had an appointment for me on Feb. 10th. I told her, I couldn't do it then....going in hospital. I told her I would get back with her once I got the PT schedules worked out. I have been going to PT twice a week, plus I fractured my arm....seeing one doctor for that, going back to see the knee doctor and my regular doctor and then the last two weeks I have just been absolutely worn out. The knee surgery left me anemic, so I had two units of blood and I haven't been able to bounce back. I understand this is common. Add to that, I have been unable to sleep for the past two weeks. I might get to sleep an hour...if that. So, I have been worn out. I told her yesterday I would call the first of the week and make an appointment. I think the all on four covers everything...including pulling teeth and I doubt if that would diminish the cost. It is pretty much a set price. Although insurance would probably cover that....I don't think it would make a difference in how much Brueggen charges. I could be wrong....but I think that is correct. I don't believe insurance covers any of it, as far as what Brueggen goes. I remember him saying on one of his videos that insurance doesn't cover it, but they have ways of financing it. I couldn't afford to finance it, and wouldn't have been able to have it done, but Jody got an insurance settlement from being hurt on the job, and that is where the money came from. I hate having my picture taken....but here is a picture that shows my teeth a little bit. I bent down to take a pic of me and my dog. Well.....at least I got the teeth in the pic.

First of all, I would like to thank everyone for their advise and suggestions. I've been really busy this week so I haven't been able to respond yet. We are allowed to bring homemade treats to school we just have to be carefull as to what is in it. Our school has been pretty good at letting us parents know if there is any food allergy in the class and have even stopped doing class parties for the most part because of food allergies and religion issues. I love the bubbles idea and even thought about it but figured that it would be too messy and knowing 7 year olds, they would want to open them right away in the class room. So I decided to save the teacher some hassle and left the bubbles at the store. I ended up sending in string cheese and whole grain club crackers. We individually wrapped everything and sent the treats in little party bages with a gold medal to go with it (DS wanted to to do race cars as his show and tell so we sent in medals for all the kids). I sent the lables in also so that the teacher coiuld double check everything. The kids liked the little bags and DS was happy to be able to give his friends "presents" as he put it. And I was happy to have found a healthy snack to send in. So many parents send in junk food and I hate it. I try to feed my family healthy stuff as often as I can and junk food is an no no in my house due to DS and SS both having soft teeth. Well DH still manages to bring junk food (pop tarts!) in the house. Grrr! But DS rarely gets it. Thank's again you everyone I really appreceiate all your help. Pets

Petra, the same thing happened to me. I went to the dentist semiannually and all was well. I begin to "age" and suddenly it's gum problems! Anyway, I chose an Oral B (I liked that the brush was "smaller") Professional 3000. I'm meticulous about brushing each tooth and crevice. When the timer goes off I'm not even halfway thru (not a problem, as the timer is just a "warning" and doesn't turn the brush off). I have four heads for my brush. I've distinguished them with fingernail polish "dots" and rotate using the so they have a chance to dry. I've had my current brush for 3 years; it replaced an older model. When this ones goes, it's highly likely I'll get another rotating model (probably Oral B, too). I also have a Waterpik Ultra Water Flosser (also 3 years old). This was my first water flosser and I love it. Besides doing my teeth, I also finish up like the dentist does...spraying between the lips and gums, and the top of the palate. It makes my mouth feel so clean. I continue to manually floss too. Finally, I rinse with a regular mouthwash, especially at night before I turn in. I still go to the dentist every 4 months for a cleaning. I almost look forward to learning my latest pocket numbers, hoping for a move in the right direction. A few have improved and I'm holding on others.
