good product for teeth

On our annual visit, the vet said our 15 month old puppies were starting to get a little tartar on their teeth. Certainly not enough for cleaning, having to put them to sleep to do it. He suggested a product they sold there that has an enzyme in it to remove the tartar. I didn't get them, wanted to see if someone here had a product that they would recommend.

They naw on nylabones and rawhide (made in USA) but evidently not enough. I can't see myself brushing their teeth ( I am not good about flossing my own!).

I gave each one of them a Busy Bone that was suppoedly good for teeth but my little girl threw up afterwards so I don't want to use them. My daughter in law who works for a vet says to be careful with Greenies - they have had some problems with dogs who swallow large pieces and have trouble digesting them.

So, does anyone have something they use that works well. Our doggies are 25 lbs and 32 lbs.
