Plant some flowers and 'weeds' that will repel the bad guys and attract the good ones. For example, I'm waiting for a trade for tansy that repels ants. They not only invaded the house, but , I believe, they farm ants on my plants. Search for beneficial insects and companion plants. There is a great forum here on GW: Plant pests and diseases.
