I salute you! There is nothing I can give you which you have not; but there is much that, while I cannot give, you can take.

No heaven can come to us unless our hearts find rest in it today. Take Heaven.

No peace lies in the future which is not hidden in the present moment. Take Peace.

The gloom of the world is but a shadow; behind it, yet within our reach is joy. Take Joy!

And so, at this Christmas time, I greet you, with the prayer that for you, now and forever, the day breaks and the shadows flee away

Gee, I thought the first one was great, but the second one is super. Now all you have to do is give us the names of all those favorites!! I'm sure one of them is Rose F. Kennedy, and maybe Betty Ford(?) Time for me to go to bed and cover up my head, for Santa Claus comes tonight, hopefully delivering wonderful daylilies to all of us who love them. Thank you so much ladies for your kind words! I missed you so much too as I really feel good in this forum and it always boosts my imagination in anything that relates to home or holidays! Without you the season wouldn't be the same! And you taught me so much! You even inspired me last year when I was looking to buy new furniture for the living room! We're back from Brussels, safe and happy to get back home, lol. For as long as it's safe and honest, I can't resist to the word "Challenge" and, once again, I took one - I should stop doing so because it does take all the "free" time I have especially when it's a challenge in English; which isn't my first language. Actually the Giant Squid Challenge is a challenge for a badge that all my Squidoo pages will showcase. It does mean that I'm good at building a Web page, with good information, how-to tutorials or anything that requires good content, that also includes nice related pictures - I know that you LOVE pictures with a passion ;) This status will get me some special perks in the community. I had to build 50 pages to enter the challenge and I created 69 - will make a few additional ones. Most of these pages relate to Christmas, Halloween, Valentine's Day and few other holidays; whether costumes, decorations, parties, gifts. Unfortunately, this did prevent me from coming to the forum because not only did I built the pages but I also had to promote them while at the same time keep managing my own websites - you know, those that are related to Christmas, Halloween and Valentine's Day. The adventure is pleasant and I hope becoming a Giant by the end of January as the review starts on January 1st. As an example, I will give you a link to my Christmas collection that recaps all the Squidoo pages I made for Christmas as I created 17 pages for this holiday: parties, decorations, gift ideas, stocking traditions, etc. :D Ok, so now, I'm going to check everything I missed in the forum, lol. And good wishes to everyone from an icy England where my noble husband has been doing things with breadcrumbs, cranberries, giblets and is now just about to start on a 'foolproof' pastry for mince pies.
Our DD is stuck on a train somewhere between London/Bristol/south Wales and should have been home ages ago. Blame it on the weather. Travel chaos caused by snow, freezing temps, black ice (it happens every year). Older son and d-in-law will descend tomorrow to help eat the turkey.
I hope your stockings contain lots of good books and may you then have the time to read them.

It's Christmas Eve in the Panhandle of Texas, and we woke up to five inches of snow which the weatherman neglected to mention last night. We might have a white (or at least slushy) Christmas...

Merry Christmas from London. The snow melted yesterday, and so it looks like every other Christmas here. Shame. But there's still deep snow around other parts of England, which is unusual, but very festive.

What wonderful quotes and messages! Christmas greetings from Toronto where, with the windchill, it is -5 degrees (should have emigrated to Australia!) and, despite news reports it would not be a white Christmas, we have a smattering of snow on the ground.

Oh, Stoneangel, I would love a smattering of snow today to cool down the 29C/84F I have here in Western Australia this midday Boxing Day.
I am surfeited with yesterday's buffet (six kinds of desserts) because the family, both sexes, love to cook, (thank goodness because I don't!) and if it was not for a breeze, I would shut myself in with the air-conditioner going full blast!
Some of you are no doubt sleeping and have the Boxing Day rituals (Sales?) to come. Enjoy!!

Warmest holiday wishes from Tidewater, Virginia. Today finds us shrouded in heavy fog, and yesterday was pouring rain. At least our weather is milder, after snowfall only one week ago. Good weather for curling up with a book or a movie....

Kentucky had pleasant weather Christmas Eve morning when we have our kids over for brunch. Then it poured rain as we drove to the country in the evening. Christmas Day started out mild, with the temperature dropping 15 degrees during the day, and it was cold last night.

My brother had turned on the TV to check the weather forecast early in the morning. Some bright, cheerful woman was giving hints for working off the extra pounds, which--good grief--we hadn't even eaten yet!

We had 38 people at my sister's for mid-day dinner and too much food to count.

It's fun to read about everyone's Christmas celebrations. In central Missouri, my family gatherings continue. On Christmas Eve, a four-hour drive in pouring rain got us to my brother's church in time to attend his 11 PM church service. (I get a kick out of listening to a sermon delivered by the mischievous kid I grew up with.) After Christmas Day with his substantial family, we paid a holiday visit to relatives in St. Louis, then fetched a dear friend from who flew in from Baltimore. We returned home last night to a lovely coating of snow, perhaps two inches. Today, it's Christmas with brother #2 and his family. Lots of fun! -- Kathy
