And good wishes to everyone from an icy England where my noble husband has been doing things with breadcrumbs, cranberries, giblets and is now just about to start on a 'foolproof' pastry for mince pies.
Our DD is stuck on a train somewhere between London/Bristol/south Wales and should have been home ages ago. Blame it on the weather. Travel chaos caused by snow, freezing temps, black ice (it happens every year). Older son and d-in-law will descend tomorrow to help eat the turkey.
I hope your stockings contain lots of good books and may you then have the time to read them.

It's Christmas Eve in the Panhandle of Texas, and we woke up to five inches of snow which the weatherman neglected to mention last night. We might have a white (or at least slushy) Christmas...

Merry Christmas from Connecticut! It's 20 degrees outside and there's snow on the ground, but the sun is shining. It's a beautiful day.

What wonderful quotes and messages! Christmas greetings from Toronto where, with the windchill, it is -5 degrees (should have emigrated to Australia!) and, despite news reports it would not be a white Christmas, we have a smattering of snow on the ground.

Oh, Stoneangel, I would love a smattering of snow today to cool down the 29C/84F I have here in Western Australia this midday Boxing Day.
I am surfeited with yesterday's buffet (six kinds of desserts) because the family, both sexes, love to cook, (thank goodness because I don't!) and if it was not for a breeze, I would shut myself in with the air-conditioner going full blast!
Some of you are no doubt sleeping and have the Boxing Day rituals (Sales?) to come. Enjoy!!

Warmest holiday wishes from Tidewater, Virginia. Today finds us shrouded in heavy fog, and yesterday was pouring rain. At least our weather is milder, after snowfall only one week ago. Good weather for curling up with a book or a movie....

Kentucky had pleasant weather Christmas Eve morning when we have our kids over for brunch. Then it poured rain as we drove to the country in the evening. Christmas Day started out mild, with the temperature dropping 15 degrees during the day, and it was cold last night.

My brother had turned on the TV to check the weather forecast early in the morning. Some bright, cheerful woman was giving hints for working off the extra pounds, which--good grief--we hadn't even eaten yet!

We had 38 people at my sister's for mid-day dinner and too much food to count.

It's fun to read about everyone's Christmas celebrations. In central Missouri, my family gatherings continue. On Christmas Eve, a four-hour drive in pouring rain got us to my brother's church in time to attend his 11 PM church service. (I get a kick out of listening to a sermon delivered by the mischievous kid I grew up with.) After Christmas Day with his substantial family, we paid a holiday visit to relatives in St. Louis, then fetched a dear friend from who flew in from Baltimore. We returned home last night to a lovely coating of snow, perhaps two inches. Today, it's Christmas with brother #2 and his family. Lots of fun! -- Kathy
